🔵 You may have noticed that Mark’s Auto Repair is an ASE Blue Seal of Excellence Recognized Shop - but what does that really mean?

ASE certification isn’t required to work as an automotive technician or operate an auto repair shop. We choose to pursue it because we believe it demonstrates a commitment to our trade, continued education, and professional standards.

To earn the ASE Blue Seal of Excellence, a repair shop must meet specific criteria:

🔧 At least 75% of technicians performing diagnosis and repairs must be ASE Certified

🔧 Every area of service the shop offers must be covered by at least one technician who is ASE Certified in that area

🔧 Shops with service consultants must meet ASE's Service Consultant certification requirement

🔧 The shop must continue to meet ASE's requirements to maintain its Blue Seal recognition

We’re also proud that 2 of our 4 technicians are ASE Master Technicians, which means that they passed all eight ASE tests (A1–A8) - covering areas such as engine repair, automatic and manual transmissions, suspension and steering, brakes, electrical systems, heating and air conditioning, and engine performance. ASE certifications must also be kept current.

ASE certification can have a practical impact, too. Some vendors and warranty programs require ASE certification for certain types of warranty work.

For us, the Blue Seal isn't just a sign on the wall. It means our shop represents our commitment to training, technical knowledge, continued growth, and taking our trade seriously.

Vehicles keep getting more complicated. We believe the people taking care of them should keep learning, too. 💙🔧

This is what it takes to replace the evaporator core in a 2017 Honda HR-V (yes, it’s in that black box 😅).

Not every repair is simple - and we’re okay with that! From routine maintenance to complex, labor-intensive repairs like this one, our team has the experience and expertise to tackle the tough jobs, too. 🔧🚗

And yes… we promise all those pieces made it back where they belong. 😂 Everything is back together, and the A/C is blowing nice and cold again! ❄️

🌊 Team Day on the River! 🚣‍♂️

Every once in a while, it's good to put the tools down, step away from the shop, and spend some time together outside of work.

This weekend, our team traded wrenches for paddles and had an incredible time white water rafting with Cascadia Rafting! There were plenty of laughs, a few soaked clothes, and some unforgettable memories along the way.

We're grateful for an amazing team that works hard every day to take care of our customers. Taking time to recharge together helps us come back refreshed and ready to do what we love.

Thanks to the crew at Cascadia Rafting for making it such a fun and well-run adventure!
