Automotive Technicians! You may NOT be looking for a job, but maybe you're looking for something BETTER...
Let's be honest. Most great technicians aren't looking for another job. They're looking for what might be missing in their current shop.
Maybe it's better training. Maybe it's more respect. Maybe it's a workplace that values your family as much as your production. If you've ever wondered whether there's a better fit for your long-term goals, we'd like to talk.
The technician we're looking for is probably already employed.
You're dependable, productive, and capable of working independently - but you also know great shops are built by great teams.
We believe the best shops strike the right balance: taking good care of employees, delivering exceptional service to customers, and running a productive & profitable business. It takes all three.
We're proud of what we've built, but we know our best days are still ahead. We're looking for someone who wants a seat at the table - not just another technician to fill a bay - but someone who wants to share ideas and help shape where we're headed.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:
• Hybrid pay system, so you get rewarded for your hard work, without all the pitfalls of flat rate ($35-$45 guaranteed hourly wage PLUS bonus structure)
• Monday-Friday schedule, 8-5 PM, so your weekends are reserved for your family, friends and hobbies
• Health, dental, life insurance, paid sick time, and SIMPLE IRA to give you peace of mind
• Paid time off and paid holidays as we all need some down time
• Paid uniforms and annual boot allowance because little things make a difference
• Paid ASE testing and ongoing training to help you stay up-to-date on current technology
• Dedicated computer workstation with access to diagnostic software and vehicle information, so you don’t waste your valuable time waiting around
• A team that values professionalism, accountability, camaraderie and continuous improvement
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
• A strong diagnostician with proven troubleshooting skills
• Someone who can work independently or with minimal supervision
• A team member who communicates well with service advisors and collaborates with fellow technicians
• A technician who takes great pride in producing high-quality work and has a desire to learn and improve
Valid driver's license and basic hand tools are required. EPA 609 certification preferred (or must be willing to obtain at employer’s expense within a mutually-agreed on time frame). ASE certifications preferred (or must be willing to obtain at employer’s expense within a mutually-agreed on time frame).
If you've made it this far, you're probably the kind of person who actually reads the whole repair order before starting the job. We like that!
My name is Aggie Jendro-Calim, owner of Mark's Auto Repair, an eight-time "Best of Whidbey" winner proudly serving Whidbey Island since 2003.
Maybe you're happy where you are. Maybe you're simply curious whether something better exists.
Either way, there's no pressure and no obligation. I'm not asking you to quit your job or make a decision today. I'd simply welcome the opportunity to learn what's important to you, answer your questions, and share what we're building at Mark's Auto Repair.
I believe the best hiring decisions happen when both people ask good questions. Whether we discover a new opportunity or simply make a new professional connection, I'd consider our time well spent.
If that sounds worthwhile to you, let’s start with a conversation.
