Needless to say, this Audi needed some work,
But nothing we couldn’t handle!

Vehicle arrived with misfire/timing codes and was diagnosed with a bad timing chain guide as well as a stretched chain on bank 2 causing the cam timing to be off.

This 2013 Audi Q7 3.0 TFSI received a full timing chain job including all 4 chains, tensioners and
guides, all gaskets, as well as a full service, at only 75k miles!

A timing chain replacement on this vehicle requires engine removal as the chains are located on the rear of the engine sandwiched between the engine and transmission! The book calls for a mere 26 hours for this job!

These engines put out great power and are reasonably stout, with one caveat.
The timing chains/guides/tensioners are prone to failure and will usually result in anything from timing chain rattle on startup, to timing issues and a rough running engine.

That being said we are happy to have been able to remedy this issue and gain another happy customer!

We had a 2005 Chev 2500HD Duramax in the shop with a low 130k miles in today! Installed new pads and rotors on all 4 corners as well as an upgraded Turbo inlet mouthpiece from S&B filters! If you didn’t know, the LLY Duramax (04.5-05) was not only fitted with a very restrictive turbo air inlet pipe, but also on the largest factory turbo ever used on a duramax!
