Good evening, for those of you who don't know, my dad, Wayne Watson, started this car show 5 years ago. He wanted to make sure that no one forgot Max. Max is a local hero who lost his life serving his country and protecting the innocent. Dad loved classic cars and so did my mom, in 2009, dad completed a more than 20 year project restoring a 1963 Chevy impala for my mom. Mom passed away in 2020 and dad wanted to keep her spirit alive and honor Max at the same time. So he created this car show to do just that. Every car show dad ever went to, he would register the car in moms name. In the 4 years of hosting this car show for Max we have raised over $17,000 for the Corpsman Maxton W. Soviak Memorial foundation. Not an incredibly large amount of money, but never the less, a cause he believed in and supported whole heartedly. Last week Dad passed away after a short illness. Dad would want us to keep going, so keep going we will. This is gonna be a tough one but I'm gonna do it for dad!
So please come check it out on August 29th at the norwalk VFW. if you or some one you know has a classic or any car, truck, jeep, or motorcycle they want to show off, come support an amazing cause and the most wonderful dad in the world. Dads goal was always to have at least 100 registered cars and the closest we ever came was 85, so let's make this happen for dad this year.
