🔴 The East Norwalk Train Station will be out of service September 26 – October 18 for the next phase of the Walk Bridge Project. No trains will stop at East Norwalk during this window — service resumes October 19.

You can continue parking at the East Norwalk Station lots or at the designated overflow locations at 10 Rowan Street and 182 East Avenue. During the closure, the Norwalk Transit District (NTD) will provide free bus service for Metro‑North ticket holders traveling between East Norwalk and South Norwalk. Please present your MNR pass when boarding. Note: No weekend bus service is available.

East Norwalk permit holders may also park on Madison Street, offering a short and convenient walk to the South Norwalk Train Station.

Because parking demand at the South Norwalk Train Station Garage is expected to be high during peak weekday hours, customers are encouraged to use East Norwalk and overflow lots as their primary parking option during the closure.
Please plan your commute ahead of time, allow extra travel time for bus connections, and review NTD schedules before heading out.

The Norwalk Oyster Festival is happening September 11-13 at Veteran's Memorial Park! Park Norwalk has parking available at several convenient locations within walking distance of the event.

🚗 Haviland Lot (5 Haviland Street)
🚗 North Water Lot (4 N Water Street)

Please note that the North Water Lot (4 N Water Street) remains open; however, due to the partial street closure associated with the Walk Bridge project, access is only available via Washington Street. Limited parking is available.

Arriving early is recommended as these lots fill up quickly! We'll see you there!

🚗The draft Residential Parking Permit (RPP) Program Guidelines & Standards is now available for public review as part of the 1st 30‑day comment period running from September 9 through October 9. This draft reflects months of community input - including February’s listening sessions, written comments, and neighborhood‑specific concerns shared throughout the spring.

Residents are encouraged to review the draft posted on parknorwalk.org/residential-parking-program and share feedback during the comment period. Send comments directly to [email protected].

A hard copy of the draft is available for public review at both locations:

Haviland Deck Update 🚧✨

Waterproofing on the Haviland Upper Deck wrapped up earlier today! Crews will be restriping later this afternoon into tonight, and if everything cures smoothly, we’re planning to reopen tomorrow.

We appreciate everyone’s patience while we complete this critical step to protect the concrete and ensure the deck stays in working condition.

Today we celebrate the completion of Phase One of the Yankee Doodle Garage improvements, an important investment for the future of downtown Norwalk and the Wall Street District.
Thank you to our Department of Transportation, Mobility and Parking, Park Norwalk, the Parking Authority, our state delegation, and especially Senator Bob Duff for his partnership in helping bring this project to life.
More than 60% of those who park in Norwalk come from outside our city, highlighting our role as a regional destination for dining, shopping, arts, entertainment, and community events. As our city continues to grow, these improvements—including lighting improvements, updated signage, and accessibility improvements—will create a safer and more welcoming experience for residents and visitors alike.
This project is about more than just a parking lot. It's an investment in our small businesses, in the center, and in the continued success of the Wall Street community.
We look forward to the progress that is yet to come.

Haviland Deck Update (8/7/26):

The first week of the closure is wrapping up, and while the weather has been challenging, crews still made solid progress on the upper level. Surface prep and early membrane work moved forward wherever conditions allowed, and the contractor has been adjusting the schedule to keep things on track.

Work will continue next week as we move into the next phase of repairs. The deck will remain closed while this work is underway, and we’ll continue to share updates as things progress.

Thank you for your patience as we push toward the finish line.
