🚗 If you drive in Greenwich, this is worth knowing.

According to new data from UConn, there have already been 49 car accidents involving 93 vehicles in Greenwich in just the first two months of 2026. And half of them are happening in the same spot — the area around I-95 Exit 5, Route 15, and Route 1.

That's not a coincidence. I-95 through Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, Norwalk, and Westport was named the busiest interstate corridor in the United States in 2024. Merging, lane changes, and high-speed traffic at that exit are genuinely challenging even for experienced drivers.

For new drivers still building their skills? It's one of the most demanding stretches of road in the country.

This is exactly why we spend so much time on highway merging and hazard awareness in our curriculum. Knowing where the risks are - and what to look for- makes a real difference.

Stay safe out there, Fairfield County. 🟢

Universal helmet laws in all states, antilock braking systems (ABS) on all new bikes, crash avoidance systems that detect motorcyclists, and a plan for lowering speeds of all vehicles on the road would go a long way to reducing motorcycle crashes, injury and death.

Read more about what Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is proposing for more motorcycle safety: https://bit.ly/3Pammi0.

Motorcyclist deaths are at a record high. Universal helmet laws and standard antilock braking systems, as well as more robust crash avoidance systems on other vehicles, could reverse the trend.

It's time to get prepared for the snow that we will get over the weekend! While you're out buying supplies for your New Year's Eve party, make sure you have supplies for the weekend too.

If you can stay home this weekend, please do so! If not, stay safe and drive cautiously.

So who is ready for a good old fashioned snowstorm? The snow will begin by noon on New Year's Day and continue into at least the first half of Saturday night. 4-8" looks likely with locally 10"+ as there will be some lake enhancement of the snow.
