🚨🚨 FIRECRACKER 50 – CANCELLED 🚨🚨
Unfortunately, we have made the decision to cancel the Firecracker 50.
A lot of the weather apps, including our own guys, are consistently showing rain moving in around 7 PM. With the sun not reaching the backstretch until approximately 9:40 AM, we just don’t see a realistic way to move our start time up enough to get the event completed. We watered the track extra early yesterday to give it as much time as possible to dry, and we still weren’t able to work it in until 9 this morning. Starting at 11, we would be just getting into features, or only a few features in, by the time the rain is expected to arrive. Not including the 35mph wind gusts moving in hours before the rain.
As racers ourselves, we don’t feel it would be right to pay out based on qualifying for an event like this. We know the time, travel, and money that goes into coming to the track, and the last thing we want is for everyone to spend that money and not get the opportunity to race.
Unfortunately, we do not have any additional dates available to reschedule the Firecracker 50 this year.
We hate having to make this call, especially for an event like this, but we feel it’s the right decision given the circumstances. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and continued support of Jennings County Kart Track.
