I made the trek up to the shop today to check and make sure it was still standing and see what the road conditions were.

The good news is the shop is still there.

The highways and main streets right now are great. Neighborhood streets much less so.
And tonight its all going to refreeze and become sketchy as hell for tomorrow mornings commute.

So will I be open tomorrow?
Yes. I plan to open at 8am.

However, if you do not feel comfortable going out in this then please dont.
I will be there Wed and Thurs too and will be happy to reschedule your appointment.

Be safe and I will see you when the world thaws.

Not sure if yall noticed or not, but its stupid cold outside.
And there is this weird white stuff on the ground.

And, just to keep things interesting, we havent even gotten to the worst of it yet.

Because of this I am expecting to be CLOSED on Monday, January 26th.

Best case scenario I will open at 10am, but that is probably being optimistic.
I have learned over the last few years that even if the roads are moderately acceptable that does not mean the parking lot is. More than once I have crawled to work only to find that I couldnt get up the little hill into the parking lot.

Even if I choose to open, DO NOT feel obligated to keep your appointment if you do not feel the roads are safe.

Happy day after Thanksgiving (also known as Black Friday) to everyone.
Hope yall had a great turkey day and enjoyed the time with family and friends.

Just a couple quick things:
1: Its now only a few short weeks until Christmas and New Years. Some of yall will be travelling, some of yall will have family/friends/children in town.
If you are going to be travelling, please dont wait until the last minute to get your car ready for the trip. Lets get your car in, make sure its ready, and make sure the only drama is when Aunt Karen doesnt like her pillow.

2: I will be open Dec. 22nd and 23rd for any last minute repairs needed or if an in-town family member needs car help.

3: I will be open normal hours the entire week of New Years.

I am thankful for each and every one of yall and the support you have shown my small business over the last 34 years!

Speaking of small businesses...

Bevil Bling & Things is open today and tomorrow for your Black Friday shopping spree needs.

You are going to be out and about anyway, so why not come see what we have to offer? Bring your friends and family and help them get a jump on their Christmas shopping too!

We made it to another Friday and you know what that means:
Yup, it means I am working today and tomorrow at our new store.
But more on that in a minute...

Hope everyone is ready for Thanksgiving and the "official" start of the holiday season!

I do still have appointment times available next week for any last minute maintenance or repairs you need before the long holiday weekend.
Of course we will be closed Thursday - because nothing and no one gets between me and a turkey (and the several days of turkey sandwiches)

We will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day of course, but plan to be open normal hours the week of New Years.

So that means you have a very few short weeks before the Christmas travel season and making sure your vehicle is ready for whatever that holds.
Please don't wait until the last minute - call now and get on the schedule!

Now I am going to backtrack and talk about my other business:

Bevil Bling & Things is now officially open for business.
Our current hours are noon-6pm Thursday - Saturday, which means we will be open for both Black Friday and Small Business Saturday.
It is conveniently located right next door to the shop, so you already know how to get there!

1: We will be closed Thursday, Nov 13th to prepare for our grand opening.

2: Each and every one of yall is invited to the GRAND OPENING of the all new Bevil Bling & Things on Friday, November 14th and Saturday, November 15th - both days from 10am-6pm.

The ribbon cutting is Friday at 3pm.
There will be a face painter here Saturday from 2-4pm. (Face painting is free with purchase, otherwise please tip the artist.)

Happy "sunset at 5pm" to everyone!!
I kinda feel like the week after the time change should just be a national holiday so we can all get used to it before we have to go back to work.

Anyway... the holidays are right around the corner and I wanted to update everyone with goings-on and holiday hours.

First - and most important:
The grand opening of the all new Bevil Bling & Things is November 14th and 15th.
Both days are from 10a-6p.
Friday will be the soft grand opening and ribbon cutting and Saturday will be the main event as it were.
I really hope to see yall there!!

Because of the grand opening, Bevil Automotive will be closed on Thursday, Nov 13th so I have time to get more ready. (I will never be 100% ready).

Obviously I will be closed Thanksgiving day. I will be open the rest of the week normal hours though.

Christmas is on a Thursday this year so I will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas day but open Monday and Tuesday of Christmas week.

New Years eve and day will be normal hours - or as normal as the parts suppliers will allow.

It has really slowed down here at the shop over the last few weeks, so if there is anything I can do to help get your vehicle ready for the upcoming holidays, please let me know.

Happy almost Friday to all!
It is still fall right? Supposed to be cooling off about now?
Yes? Ok, just checking....

anyway, I need everyone to spare a moment and do me a favor:
If you are a Boomer or Gen X I need you to get the paper calendar you have sitting on your desk or hanging on the wall by your desk.
If you are a younger generation, grab your phone or tablet and open the calendar app.

And I need everyone to mark November 14th and 15th on their respective calendars.

That is the GRAND OPENING of the NEW Bevil Bling & Things.

You will notice I did not say "grand reopening". That's because almost everything is different.
Its been a 6 month remodel project that added over 1400 sq/ft of work and display space.
New items, new ideas - a whole new shop and shopping experience.

Our goal is to not only create the first place you think of when you need a gift or have a gift idea, but a destination shopping experience. A place you look forward to visiting.

I would consider it a huge personal favor if yall could make it out and see what all the fuss is about.
And please, tell your friends and help us spread the word!

Friday the 14th will be the "soft" grand opening where we work out the bugs.
Saturday will be the big event with a face painter and all the fun stuff.

Both days will be 10am-6pm

Oh yeah... the shop is still here and not going anywhere.
I have finished up the project vehicles and caught up on my schedule - which means I now have same week and sometimes even same day appointments available.

Its a bittersweet sight and sound.
That chop! That CAR!!
Both are nothing short of perfection.

And that sight and sound officially mark the end of performance work by Bevil Automotive.

Its been a blast building some of the best Hemi's over the last 15 years, but its time for it to end.

Bevil Automotive will be around for years to come.
But "Built By Bevil Automotive" is officially closed.

First:
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the weekend flooding in central Texas.
Those who lost loved ones, those still missing, and the emergency responders who are doing their best in a near impossible situation.

And a very distant second:
I am VERY behind at the shop. The next 2 weeks will be difficult - difficult to get the required work done and difficult to return every call or text.
However once we get through the current workload I will be almost caught up and am actively working to prevent situations like this going forward.
I get it, it benefits no one when I am 2 weeks behind. My job is to help you and I cant effectively do that when I am this far behind.
And for that I apologize.

If you called/texted last week and I did not respond, please call or text again - I promise it wasnt deliberate.

Please have patience with me as I get these commitments buttoned up - things will be back to "normal" soon.

Remember how way back in January I said I would do my best to keep this page active and post more regularly?

Yeah, that didnt age well, did it.

Anyway, a few updates real quick:

1: Since at least once a week someone asks me if I am planning to retire, I will answer that right now:
Yes. I do plan to retire. I have even picked a date:

June 1st.

Yup, I am officially going to retire on June 1st.

Granted, that will be June 1st, 2035... but its still a date to look forward to.
So you probably should call today to get in... 10 years is going to just fly by.

2: Yes, I am going to keep plugging my other business.
Often.
For those that are interested, Bevil Bling and Craig's 3D Creations have officially merged into one business called Bevil Bling & Things.
And we are going to be expanding our offerings soon!

If you haven't "liked" the new business page you really should. Its the only way to know what is going on over there.
(Remember too - sharing is caring! Even if you arent immediately interested in what we have to offer, sharing to your friends helps spread the word and promote a small business.)
