I am not an old man, to me, anyway.

HOWEVER, I remember when Color TV was becoming the big thing.
Manufacturers and Government did not force lines at Sears to get one, The desire to have one did.

I was around for the introduction of the Microwave oven. My family did not have a lot of money, but my dad went and got one...it cost over 600 bucks in the 1970s. Nobody made him spend the equivalent of $2200.00 in todays money, his desire to own one did.
Computers, cell phones, flat screens, cordless tools, radial tires, cable TV, Internet, Look around your home and see all the stuff, some of it useless that you bought because you simply wanted it.

Now to my point.

Electric cars. If they fit your lifestyle, get one. If you want one, get one. But the issue is, the Government has decided that you WILL get one.
The mandate kicks in in just a few years. I will not buy one, because I do not want one and it does NOT suit my needs...so I will tell you now that a year or two after the mandate kicks in, the Government will do what it does best. They will tax the ever loving S**T out of gas and diesel and tell you its for your own good. and you will be mad, but you will accept it as just another thing you must do.
Man, I miss America, because I am also old enough to remember the freedoms we had back then.

A little update. I bought this 1962 Suburban last fall and we have been playing with it this winter.
It is now mounted on a 2002 Cadillac Escalade frame with all wheel drive with a High Output 6.0 LS engine.
I am leaving the paint alone for now, but installing Air Conditioning, GPS speedometer, Cruise control and whatever other modern conveniences pop to mind...LOL
