Exciting news! Classy Chassy will soon have a new owner!

We are thrilled to announce that the business and its name will continue just as Jerry envisioned. While we aren’t ready to share every detail quite yet, please stay tuned as we move through this transition.

Jerry’s daughters took great care to select a buyer dedicated to upholding the impeccable reputation Jerry built in North Muskegon for more than 30 years. Knowing Classy Chassy will be in excellent hands, we look forward to seeing the lot filled with cars once again!

The love and support we’ve received from the community over the last few months has been truly moving. It is because of people like you that small businesses like ours are able to survive and flourish. We are eager to get back to work!

As many in the community know, the longtime owner of Classy Chassy, Jerry Peterman, passed away on October 2, 2025, after a battle with cancer. Jerry was a proud business owner for over 30 years and leaves behind two daughters.

When Jerry learned of his illness, he made the decision to sell Classy Chassy and entered into a contract with a local car dealer who began operating the business in July 2025. Throughout this time, the employees of Classy Chassy remained committed to honoring Jerry’s legacy and serving the community. Sadly, Jerry passed away before the sale could be finalized.

As executors of his estate, Jerry’s daughters continued working in good faith with the buyer to complete the transaction. In recent weeks, the buyer chose not to move forward with the purchase and removed their inventory. As a result, for the first time in over 30 years, Classy Chassy has closed its doors.

Jerry’s daughters are actively working to sell the business and remain hopeful that Classy Chassy can live on in some form, continuing to support the needs of North Muskegon and the surrounding areas.

We sincerely appreciate the kindness, patience, and support shown during this difficult time for our family, the employees, and everyone who has been part of the Classy Chassy story. 💛
