Attention Dock Customers at Scales Pointe and all boaters of Coralville Reservoir. We have some good news we would like to share about the current Lake Level situation on Coralville Reservoir. We met with Corps Of Engineers officials yesterday at Scales Pointe to show them how the lowering Lake Level is impacting many of our slips and boat lifts because of shallow water. The Corps Of Engineers was unaware of how lowering the lake several inches during summer months can cause such an extreme effect on the operation of Marinas on the Coralville Reservoir. As of yesterday, July 30 the Corps Of Engineers verbally agreed to raise the Lake back to 684 Lake Level, they were unable to commit to how long they could hold it at 684 because of the active bird study as there are several departments with the Corps Of Engineers will have to update on the struggles caused by low Lake Levels at the marinas. Any Dock customer at Scales Pointe that was having difficulty getting their boat on or off the lift the last several days you should notice by early next week you should be able to get your boat on and off the lift as normal. As of this morning, the Corps Of Engineers River gauges shows the Coralville Reservoir on the rise and holding at 684 Lake Level early next week through August 14. We are hopeful that they will continue 684 past August 14 through the end of the 2026 season. Scales Pointe will stay in direct communication with Corps Of Engineers as there are conversations we had with them yesterday that need to be continued on several subjects of Lake Level operation on Coralville Reservoir. Keep in mind if you had trouble getting your boat on and off your lift last weekend or the past few days you will likely still struggle this weekend as mentioned above the Lake will not be to 684 until early next week.
