We are keeping the team introductions rolling, and today we’d love for you to meet our amazing Product Specialist, Danielle!

Danielle has been a vital part of the Sound Decision family for over 5 ½ years, and she brings an incredible 22+ years of experience in the automotive, customer service, and sales industry!

When working with clients, her absolute favorite projects to plan are boats and UTVs. She loves putting together all the extra details and seeing (and hearing!) the end result of a custom build. For Danielle, the absolute best part of the job is seeing how excited and happy our customers are with the final results.

Danielle is deeply inspired by her mother, who spent her own career in the male-dominated automotive parts industry, proving that hard work, determination, and strength have absolutely no gender.

Describing herself as outgoing, compassionate, and inspirational, Danielle truly lives up to those words both in and out of the shop. When she has free time, you can find her hanging out with her boyfriend, Eric, and her 13-year-old daughter, Amelia. Her true "happy place" is being out on the water at the lake, ice fishing, and spending quality time with friends and family!

:: MEET THE TEAM ::

We are continuing our team introductions, and today we’d love for you to meet another one of our incredible technicians, Chad!

Chad has been a staple here at Sound Decision since June of 2014. Before joining our team, he built his expertise working in the car audio department at Best Buy from June 2003 to June 2014. He brings fantastic knowledge to the shop, having been MECP certified multiple times and attended paint protection classes.

When he’s working in the bay, Chad’s favorite projects are remote starts, which he notes “just kinda come natural” to him. He also really enjoys putting in subs and amps.

Chad draws his inspiration from his grandmother, who always taught him “to be a good person and treat people the way you want to be treated”. He truly brings that great energy to the team, describing himself as hard working, honest, and a “goofball”.

When he’s off the clock, Chad loves doing anything with his family—his wife and two teenage children—and enjoys being outside, especially around bonfires. He is also a huge movie buff who collects physical media and absolutely anything related to Ghostbusters! As an amazing bonus talent, Chad is actually a Hall of Fame football player for the Northland Community and Technical College Class of 2002, and was officially inducted in May of 2014.

We are continuing our team introductions, and today we’d love for you to meet one of our incredible technicians, Jordan!

Jordan joined the Sound Decision crew back in May 2025, but he has been an industry pro since 2013. He brings a massive amount of experience in window tint and truck accessories, including suspension lifts, wheels and tires, hitches, and airbags. As Jordan says, “If it goes on a truck, there is a good chance I’ve done it!”

When it comes to his favorite projects in the bay, Jordan loves diving into custom work and specialty builds on busses, limos, and larger-scale watercraft. He’s highly detail-oriented and talented in woodworking and custom fabrication, which allows him to use his creative freedom to completely exceed customer expectations.

Jordan’s dedication to his craft is next level. He has attended Knowledgefest trainings in Indianapolis and spent 9 years in competitive car audio. He traveled all over the United States for hundreds of events, including invite-only finals, and even held a Top 5 standing nationwide in his class!

He traces his passion for the industry back to his late Uncle Kevin, a positive, hardworking man with a heart of gold who always had a stereo in his car and got Jordan hooked on the “boom”.

Describing himself as honest, energetic, and social, Jordan brings that exact vibe when he’s not at the shop. He spends his free time fishing (both open water and ice), snowmobiling, riding his motorcycle, tackling home improvement projects, and hanging out with his best friend, his 8 year old son!

:: MEET THE TEAM ::

We are so excited to introduce (and re-introduce!) the faces behind the shop! First up is our new Sound Decision Owner, Nick Paulson.

Nick is a 22+ year veteran in the industry, having originally founded his first store, Audio Garage, alongside his brother. He brings a massive wealth of knowledge to Sound Decision as a MECP Certified technician, a Paint Protection Certified specialist, and a Certified Welder with advanced training from the MasterTech Expo.

Did we mention he currently sits on the board of the Mobile Electronics Specialist of America and has been featured on Fox Business News and various national publications?

While his favorite projects are boats and custom vehicles, he truly loves everything about this industry. As Nick puts it: “Our staff is full of A-list Technicians and Product Specialists, and our clients are hands down the greatest!”

When he’s not at the shop, Nick is spending time with his wife, two daughters, and son. You can usually find him enjoying the outdoors—kayaking, camping, mountain biking, hiking, or catching a great concert.

Big news, Grand Forks! 🤝 As of August 1st, the torch has officially been passed here at Sound Decision.

After two decades of incredible dedication to this community, Jay and Nora are officially stepping back from the industry to focus on new ventures and expand their roles with their family farm. We cannot thank them enough for the amazing foundation they’ve built and the trust they’ve earned over the years. We wish them nothing but the absolute best in this exciting next chapter!

Over the last few months, Jay and Nick have worked closely together to ensure a seamless handoff. It was deeply important to Jay and Nora that Sound Decision be passed into trusted hands, and Nick and our entire The Audio Garage family are incredibly honored to take the wheel.

To our amazing customers: this is a positive, exciting transition for everyone! Everything you love about Sound Decision is staying exactly the same. The name on the sign isn’t changing, and more importantly, the incredible staff and familiar faces you already trust aren’t going anywhere.

As we settle in, we are looking forward to all the exciting things to come. In the near future, we’ll be bringing in some fresh product lines and expanded services to give our team even more tools to upgrade your rides.
