Shout out to Tony Tony Newland for sharing this tip with me. I’ve often wanted to change a foam out for something different in search of grip but never really came up with a good solution. This should work awesome. People make cut’n’shut crawler tires a similar way and they hold up to serious abuse so I’m thinking this will too.

Sometimes the solution is staring you in the face. I had dreamt up all sorts of ways I could make a mount for the fan. Turns out the cleanest and lightest method was just a longer screw in an existing hole. The hot weather and new track at die hard has made this car run a little warmer than I’d like for the first time. A little air movement back there should sort that out nicely.

Welp. It runs sorta. I think I must have an air leak somewhere. It is acting like it won’t hold a tune and Even with so much fuel the pipe loads up it still idles high enough that the clutch stays engaged. I know this type of clutch will always drag some since there’s no springs but it’s staying on power even on the brakes.

The drill start assembly is leaking some goo. Maybe I need to track down a regular backplate for this motor.
