A message from Chief Deputy (retired) Jose Chavez: I recently retired from the Cleveland County Sheriff Office. On 8-12-20, I was visited at my home by Cpt. Jeff Cox and Admin Assistant Patty Cox, who presented me with this special gift. I want to thank my CCSO family for their thoughtfulness. I was honored to receive such a present. As we know the law enforcement profession is being challenged like never before. I know that most of the men and women, who have chosen this profession, do it because of them being service orientated. They do this because they are difference makers. They are dedicated to make a positive impact for the betterment of the people and the community they have sworn to serve and protect. They believe in the duty to transform lives in a positive way. They take an oath to do the best they can, and, if necessary, place themselves in harm's way. They are part of the thin blue line, which separates good from evil. They dedicate their lives to this, so others don't have too. The services provided by police professionals are often taken for granted. It's emotionally, psychologically, and physically demanding, not only to the officers, but to their families. They're committed to holding the line no matter what it takes. They will protect the line vigorously separating peace from chaos. They will keep the promise made to courageously protect and compassionately serve. They will confront evil head on, will comfort the scared, be compassionate to empower the meek, and will protect the vulnerable. They will stand tall together to stop fear, evil, and injustice. They will ensure that law and order always prevails. They do this, because this is what they do. Yes, my profession is facing trying times, but throughout our history we have always faced challenges. In the OK City Metro area we are fortunate to have a quality law enforcement presence. Due to the caliber of the current generation of law enforcement professionals, they will adapt and adjust. This will result in the profession becoming better than ever. Thank you for allowing me to serve you and our community. It was my honor and privilege.
Take Care & God Bless,
Jose Chavez
