Successfully put a 4l60e (fully electronic, typically only computer controlled) transmission from a 99 Escalade in place of the 700r4 (fully hydro-mechanical) in this 88 Chevy K2500 WithOut a computer. It shifts up and down with any gear selection on the stock column shifter in a manual control (stick shift) mode.

This 2004 car was purchased for only $350 because electrical issues no one else seemed to be able to figure out. All electrical issues are corrected now; brake lights, turn signals, airbag, horn, and cruise control. In the end it was all caused by a poor steering column install. Goes to show there is definitely a difference between a discount rate professional and just a cheap mechanic!

No spark, no guessing! Accurate diagnostics is essential to keeping parts cost down. Ignition problems can get expensive fast. A $20 coil got this beast running, followed with some tlc and it's ride ready!

Saved the transmission in an old gator for a customer. Had to re machine the snap ring groove and sleeve/shim the hub on...

Saved the transmission in an old gator for a customer. Had to re machine the snap ring groove and sleeve/shim the hub on the shaft. Fixed the sloppy shift linkage while I was in there.
