What’s in the shop today:

1. This Fuzion 5th wheel has sustained electrical damage from an apparent issue with shore power from a campground. We have already done our first round of diagnostics and repairs on the electrical systems and all the electrical components and appliances. We ended up replacing over 20 LED ceiling lights, both AC control boards, landing gear module, inverter, water heater control board, bed lift controller and motor, fridge control board, Jenson stereo/DVD player, and few other components. Once those items were replaced, we found additional issues with the fridge and converter/charger. After working with the fridge manufacturer to identify our additional issues, we are now waiting on more parts to arrive so we can get everything working like new again.
2. The next vehicle in our shop is this Alfa Gold 5th wheel. This camper has damage that resulted from a double blow out on the driver’s side. While working to repair the subfloor, skirt panel, and bracing, we also found that the slide out threshold has also been damaged. We will be fabricating and installing additional underfloor bracing to help keep everything supported once we get it all back into shape. Once all of the repairs are completed, it will be moved to paint booth, so the replacement skirt panels can be refinished in the correct brown color.
3. Our customer’s Shadow Cruiser is here for a few minor repairs before it is being put away for the fall/winter. We have already tested the AC and made sure that the factory diffuser between intake and exhaust air is installed correctly and fully sealed to ensure that the AC is working as effectively as possible. We will also be replacing some slide out seals before returning it back to the customer.
4. We also have a brand new (2026) Keystone Montana in our body shop. This unit was impacted by a tree branch. We have removed the front cap and are currently repairing all of the fiberglass damage. Unfortunately, the branch has also impacted the roof, so it will be getting a new roof installed while it is here.
5. We have our customer’s Open Range camper outside today because we recently installed a new TV antenna and booster and need to check to make sure it is picking up local TV stations before we return it to the customer. This unit has also had a slide out motor replaced and a grey tank leak repaired while it has been here. This one will be ready to return to the customer as early as today once our final testing is complete.
6. This little Lance camper will be getting a new kitchen faucet later today and since the customer is done camping for the season, he has also asked us to winterize his freshwater system while it is here. Getting your RV for winterization is a great way to beat the cold-weather rush and be certain that your RV is ready to be stored for the winter.
7. Our customer brought in their Astoria motorhome because a window was broken while it was in storage. We have installed a temporary Lexan replacement panel, so the customer can use the RV while we are waiting on the replacement window to arrive from the window manufacturer. Because this RV has been in storage for a while, the customer found that the RV was not wanting to start when he brought to our shop. He was able to have a tow company help him get is jumped so he could it to us and while it was here, we tested his chassis batteries and found that they were no longer holding a charge. We have installed new chassis batteries and now the customer should not have to worry about them for awhile.
8. We are also working on a Phaeton motorhome that needed a new water pump, awning motor, and slide topper installed. The water pump and slide topper are done and we are expecting the replacement awning motor today or tomorrow so we can get this job all finished up and delivered back to the customer. Unfortunately, the original satin slide topper hardware and grey fabric are no longer available, so the customer opted for black slide topper over his bedroom slide out.
9. Finally, this horse trailer was past due for a roof reseal. While resealing the roof, our technician noticed that the skylight was broken. A replacement has been sourced and installed. Next, we will be working to see if we can re-adhere some ceiling panels that are coming loose due to water leaking into the living quarters from the old roof sealant.

It still feels very much like summer at the moment, but the cold weather is just around the corner and failing to winterize your RV or waiting until the last minute to do so, can result in costly repairs.

What’s in the shop today:

1. First up we have this 2001 American Coach motorhome that sustained extensive damage to fiberglass rear cap. In order to correctly repair the damage, we had to support the rear cap to maintain its shape, remove the cap, add additional fiberglass patches to the back of the cap, fill and smooth the font of the cap, then paint on the 3 colors and blend into the sidewalls. This is time consuming repair, but cutting corners to save time would result in repairs that would crack back out. Our repairs are as strong, if not stronger, than before the accident
2. Next, we have a 2007 Monaco Diplomat that sustained some minor to moderate hail damage that required the replacement of several components including the AC units. Due to new refrigerant requirements for AC manufacturers none of the old Dometic AC components were compatible with the new R32 system and all new ACs, control boards, thermostat, and communication adapters had to be installed to make the new system work.
3. This little Forest River Puma camper had a cracked skylight that resulted in damage to the roof decking. We were able to repair the damaged decking & roof truss, before installing new ¼” plywood sheathing (required for a warranty on the new roof membrane) before gluing down a new Dicor TPO roof membrane and reinstalling and sealing all of the roof components. If properly maintained, this roof should last another 10 years. BY THE WAY: This camper will be for sale soon, contact us if you are interested or would like more information.
4. Due to some health issues our customer’s 2019 Thor Hurricane motorhome has been sitting unused for the last 3-4 years. The owners are finally ready to use the RV again and brought it to us for an inspection. We checked this one out from top to bottom (minus any of mechanical components that we do not repair or service) and found a few issues consistent with RVs that have sat for long periods of time. The customer has approved repairs including a new water heater, converter, and batteries, fixing some small freshwater leaks, and reattaching a loose slide out seal. This RV will soon be ready for the owners to enjoy new adventures on the open road.
5. Our next vehicle in the shop is this 2006 Forest River Sunseeker that had a run in with a deer. Our tech is replacing parts of the front bumper, the driver’s fender & headlight, front grille, license plate bracket, and then repairing the hood before it goes into the paint booth for a fresh coat of Oxford White paint.
6. Lastly, we have this 2017 Keystone Laredo 5th wheel that is getting ready for a rear wall replacement. We will need to remove several components including the ladder, taillights, trim, and window to replace the damaged wall. A new wall will be cut to fit, glued into place and painted the correct tan color before the components are reinstalled, a new decal is applied, and everything is sealed with RV silicone. The entire process will take approximately 4 days from start to finish

Here is some good information about RV air conditioners. What’s in the shop today?

Again, we have a pretty wide variety being completed in the shop today. As you might expect, several of the jobs are related to the recent storms that dropped large hail in the area earlier this month.

1. This Merhow horse trailer had a run in with a concrete base for a pole, which did both structural and cosmetic damage to the trailer. We have repaired the structure and we are awaiting the replacement parts from the manufacturer, which should be here any day now, so we can finish up these repairs.
2. Our customer’s KZ Venom was in need of a new roof. This roof replacement was simply due to age and not related to the storms. Our technician has replaced sections of damaged decking before putting down a ¼” sheathing so the new roof can be installed on a new, clean surface- which is required for the roofing manufacturer’s warranty. NOTE: Some other shops fail to install a new wood surface, leaving customers without a warranty on their new roof.
3. The Forest River Berkshire motorhome pictured in our paint booth has already had dozens of hail dents on the lower driver’s side repaired. Our technician has now installed new roof cove panels (aluminum panels along the sides of the roof) and is getting them ready for paint.
4. This Chateau motorhome has also sustained damage from the hailstorm. Shortly after this picture was taken, our technician removed the hood (it had about 20 hail dents in it) so it can be replaced. The fenders each only have 4-5 dents in them, so they will be repaired and repainted the factory color. Luckily for the customer, the front bunk overhang on this class C motorhome helped save the windshield from hail damage.
5. The ceiling in the bathroom of this Grand Design Reflection has been replaced along with new ceiling lights and skylight. The roof had been replaced a couple of weeks ago, but we had to wait for the correct ceiling panels and trim to be shipped in from Grand Design. This one is ready to be cleaned up and returned to the customer.
6. Yet another victim of the hailstorm was this Jayco Seneca super C motorhome. We have already repaired the hail damage on the fiberglass hood and next week we will begin replacing the fiberglass roof skin before painting the hood (we don’t want any debris from the roof replacement to get on the new paint, so we have opted to paint it after the roof replacement is done).
7. Our customer brought us their Jayco Greyhawk motorhome with list of items they wanted upgraded and repaired. Some of the items completed include: rewiring the house battery (someone else replaced the battery recently and did not get it wired up correctly), replacing their jack-knife sofa with a dual reclining love seat, replacing the carpet on their slide out, installing a new 32” Samsung QLED smart TV, and diagnosing an issue with their entry steps. Once the parts arrive for the step repairs, this one too will be ready to deliver back to the customer.
8. The second Grand Design Reflection in our shop is simply getting a new slide out seal installed, as well as making some adjustments to the slide room to center it up in the opening. The slide is too tight to the rear, which is what caused the damage to the seal in the first place.
