Track looking good for the Thanksgiving weekend's Kart Races. Camping will be open on Friday with racing Saturday at 1pm, and racing Sunday at Noon. Two-day drivers passes are $75, two-day non-driver passes are $30. Single day drivers are $50, single day non-drivers are $20. Camping is $25 and is good Friday thru Monday. So have a great Thanksgiving with friends and family, then come out for a weekend of Kart Racing!

After a great turnout from both fans and race teams last Saturday, we are about to do it again this Saturday, August 13th with the USAC Western States Midgets ($2000 to Win!), IMCA Modifieds ($1500 to Win!), IMCA SportMods ($750 to Win!), SM Dwarfcars ($300 to Win!) and a demonstration from the WRA Vintage Sprints. The track has been graded and the straightaways widened a bit. The berm will return! Full purse for the local classes is posted here. We had some small issues on our first race back, but were so happy to see the Grandstands and Terrace seating FULL. We will be working all week to make this show even better for our fans and race teams. And we are very excited that "Showtime" Danny Sheridan will be stepping into a USAC Midget this weekend to try to get a USAC Midget win at SMR (That would be a first for Sheridan). Thanks again for the community and sponsor support. We are getting closer to having engines roar at SM Raceway once again!! And thanks to some awesome sponsors and supporters every division will have some extra bonus money attached! This Saturday, August 6th will feature the USAC/CRA 410 Sprints and the winged California Lightning Sprints, along with IMCA SportMods and SM Dwarf Cars. The IMCA SportMods will see their purses increased for the next two weekends with $750 to win and increased purse for the top-5. The Dwarf Cars will see the winner get an extra $100 to make it $300 to win with extra money for the top-3. Both USAC/CRA and the CLS will have up to $750 in bonus money on top of their regular purses. And next week, August 13th, the USAC Western States Midgets will increase it's winner's prize from $1200 to win to $2000 to win! That same day the IMCA Modifieds will now payout a whopping $1500 to win with increased payouts for the top-6. The increased payouts for IMCA SportMods and SM Dwarfcars on the 13th will increase to the same payout as on the 6th. Open practice TONIGHT! Starts at 5pm and goes until 9pm. Martin will be grilling some hot dogs, hamburgers, and tri-tip. So there will be food and soft drinks available for a donation. Free admission to the grandstands. Pit passes are $45. Just a warm up before USAC comes to the raceway for two weekends in a row of dirt track racing August 6 and Aug 13. Track prep in progress for this Saturday’s Open Practice at SMR. Thanks to all the folks helping to get the track ready for the next three weekends of cars roaring around the track. A lot of work has been done, but we could still use some sponsorship help to ensure a successful set of races and help get us to a 2023 season. Contact us right away to show your support and get your signage up in time for racing. This Saturday’s practice starts at 5pm. Pit gates open at 3pm. All big track divisions can hit the track this Saturday. Grandstands free to the public if you just want to head out and watch some cars warm up for the upcoming August USAC events right here at SMR.

OPEN PRACTICE! Saturday, July 30th from 5pm to 9pm. Pit Passes $45. All Big Track divisions welcome. We are gearing up for our two USAC nights in August and wanted teams a chance to run on the big track before the races. $45 Pit pass is the only charge. Will get some time under the lights. Also, still looking for a little help with getting the facility cleaned up and ready. If you would like to come out and help, let us know. We have had some support from local teams and fans, but still have a lot to do. Upcoming weeks should see plenty of much-wanted activity here at the raceway.

Update: We have had a lot of requests from fans and teams about how to help, and if they can volunteer. We now have a date for the Volunteer Cleanup Day! The cleanup day will be next Sunday, July 17th from 10am to 1pm followed by lunch provided by the track. All fans and teams are welcome to attend. We could use help with general cleanup of the public areas, as well as w**d clearing and touchup painting. If you have hand tools, brooms, w**deaters, chainsaws, or clippers, we can always use a skilled hand using their equipment. Also, if you can't be here next Sunday, but would still like to come out and help contact us and we will make sure that can happen. We have the potential to bring back racing and events back to the track. And we have already had a great amount of support from local teams and fans helping to get the track back in shape for our two USAC events in August. And, thanks to Nick Diani, LLC and Flynn's Painting we now have a repaired and painted back-stretch fence now ready for billboards and banners for our supporters and sponsors vital to getting back to racing. If you would like to show your support of local racing by getting banner space up in time for the USAC events, contact us and we will make that happen. Again, thanks to all who have come through already with vital support and services the past couple of months. This has made it possible to keep up the effort to get back to racing regularly at a track with a history that started in the 60's! Stay tuned for more info. Tickets for the two USAC events will be available soon online. We are just getting everything in place.

Attention Race Fans and Race Teams! Good news! The Big Track will be active in August! We will be having two USAC sanctioned events. On Saturday, August 6th we will be hosting the USAC/CRA 410 Sprint Cars, along with the winged California Lightning Sprints, the IMCA SportMods, and DwarfCars. And on Saturday, August 13th we will host the USAC Western States Midgets, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA SportMods, DwarfCars, and the WRA Vintage Sprints. This is the result of a great deal of support from USAC, CLS, and a number of our local race teams. Make no mistake, the track is still fighting new restrictions that have had serious negative affects on our financial situation. We are still seeking additional sponsorship and many fans and teams have asked for a formal volunteer cleanup day. We will be making some more announcements regarding volunteer help and sponsorships, as well as ticketing, parking, and payouts. We will also be having an open practice before the two races and will announce that soon. But we will be racing in August! So many people coming together to save this track. Let's hope these August races get us closer to having full seasons again. Stayed tuned for more info!
