Recently I heard the whole I got a buddy who can do it cheaper thing and it kinda aggravates me a little. That labor rate you think is too much is it? Price out the latest scan tools and not that temu stuff either oh and don’t forget the updates that come. What about the alldata and there’s the internet bill for that too. Whats your buddies taxes look like? How about the couple different insurance policies? What’s his heat bill my employees aren’t gonna work cold. Tell me what happens when your buddy has your car roll off his jack and hits the car behind it and now both are damaged? You’re gonna be left with a damaged car. There’s a lot of overhead to a shop, employees, maintenance, utilities, insurance, the tech to always be up to the latest info on your vehicle and wo on. So the next time you think your buddy can do it cheaper consider this. You’d also be really surprised how many vehicles come in to be fixed right after they’re buddy tried to do it cheaper.
