If your temperature gauge starts climbing into the red, your warning light comes on, or you see steam coming from under the hood — don’t keep driving!

🛑 Pull over safely and turn off the engine.

Continuing to drive an overheating vehicle can cause serious and expensive damage, including a blown head gasket, warped cylinder head, or even complete engine failure. 💸🔧

A few important reminders:

❌ Don’t ignore the temperature warning
❌ Don’t continue driving “just a few more miles”
❌ Don’t open the radiator cap while the engine is hot — hot coolant can cause severe burns

Instead, let the vehicle cool down and have it inspected by a qualified technician.

🐾❤️ A Very Special A-1 Family Member ❤️🐾

Since today is National Dog Day, we couldn't let the day go by without remembering a very special girl who will always have a place in the A-1 Auto Center family.
Lily wasn't just the owner's dog — she was part of the shop. Our mascot, our greeter, and one of the sweetest faces you could find around A-1. 🐶❤️
She may have crossed the rainbow bridge a few years ago, but we still think about her, talk about her, and remember all the joy she brought into the shop.
Some dogs leave paw prints on your heart.
She left hers all over A-1. 🐾
We love and miss you, sweet girl. ❤️🐾

🚗 A Code Scan Isn’t the Same as a Diagnosis

Your check-engine light comes on, so we plug in the scanner and get a trouble code. Easy, right?

Not quite. 🔧

A code scan tells us what the vehicle’s computer detected and points us toward a system or circuit that may have a problem. But the code itself usually doesn’t tell us exactly which part needs to be replaced.

That’s where diagnosis comes in.

A proper diagnosis may involve:
🔹 Checking wiring, connectors, and grounds
🔹 Testing sensors and other components
🔹 Looking at live data from the vehicle
🔹 Performing electrical or mechanical tests
🔹 Confirming the root cause before recommending repairs

Think of it like this: a trouble code is a clue—not the answer.

Taking the time to diagnose the problem correctly can help prevent unnecessary parts replacement and get you the repair your vehicle actually needs.
