Another fun fact is that the Prius was the first mass-produced hybrid and popularized the technology for the general public in 1997

Hybrid: Anything made by combining two or more distinct elements to achieve a specific result or benefit.

In relation to automobiles / travel, the first known hybrid vehicle was introduced by Ferdinand Porsche when he used an internal combustion engine to power a generator, which supplied electricity to motors mounted directly to the hubs / wheels on his 1901 Lohner-Porsche Mixte.

However, in 1997, Toyota introduced the first mass-produced gasoline-electric hybrid car named, Prius!!
