A pretty exciting day for this hardworking husband of mine.

Nobody works harder for the things he wants. The long days, late nights and sacrifices don’t always get seen—but I see them. Today we got to bring home a pretty exciting reward for all that hard work. So proud of you and everything we’re building. ❤️

Congratulations on the new excavator, Nick! I’d say that smile says it all. 😂❤️

And as exciting as this purchase is… there’s an even bigger reason behind it. 👀

We’ve got some pretty big things in the works, and this machine is going to play a big part in what’s coming next. More news to come soon!

Also, a big shoutout to Justin at MB Tractor for working through everything with us and making this happen. We really appreciate all of your help throughout the process. We definitely know where we’ll be going the next time we need a piece of equipment!

🔧 WHY DOES A DIAGNOSTIC COST MONEY?
This 2022 Hyundai Tucson came into the shop with multiple warning lights, thick exhaust smoke that smelled of raw fuel, stalling, and difficulty moving.

So, what’s the first step?

We started by scanning the vehicle for trouble codes that could point us in the right direction. We found codes for a cylinder #2 misfire and a random/multiple-cylinder misfire.

But a code doesn't tell us what part has failed. That's where the actual diagnostic process starts.

Our technician first swapped the #2 ignition coil with the #3 coil to rule out a failed coil. The misfire stayed on cylinder #2, telling us the coil wasn't the problem.

Next, the #2 coil and spark plug were removed. The spark plug was soaked with unburned fuel.

That gave us another piece of the puzzle—but we still weren't going to assume the injector was the problem.

A compression test was performed on cylinder #2 to make sure the engine had adequate compression to properly burn the fuel entering the cylinder. Compression was within specification, helping us rule out an internal mechanical issue.

Next, all of the ignition coils were disconnected and, using the scan tool, our technician monitored fuel-rail pressure while cranking the engine.

The fuel pressure failed to reach its target while cranking and dropped immediately when cranking stopped.

Now we had another clue.

The test was repeated, and immediately after cranking, our technician used a borescope to look inside cylinder #2.

And there it was.

⛽ Fuel was rushing into cylinder #2 and pooling on top of the piston.

The testing confirmed that the #2 high-pressure fuel injector had failed and was stuck open, allowing raw fuel into the cylinder.

And THAT is what you're paying for with a diagnostic.
A scan tool didn't tell us, “Replace the #2 high-pressure injector.”

It took a scan tool, hands-on component testing, spark-plug inspection, compression testing, fuel-pressure data and a borescope inspection—along with a technician who knew what to test next and how to interpret each result.

Diagnostics aren't about guessing until we find the right part.

They're about testing, eliminating possibilities, gathering evidence, and confirming the failure BEFORE we ask you to pay for a repair.

That's the difference between reading a code and diagnosing a vehicle.

Out with the old, in with the new. 🔧

We wrapped up this transmission replacement on Friday!

Before moving forward with a repair of this size, we performed a complimentary multi-point inspection to get a good look at the overall condition of the vehicle. We wanted our customer to have the full picture before making the investment.

With the rest of the vehicle looking good, the customer gave us the go-ahead and we got to work.

The best part? This replacement transmission is backed by a 3-year, unlimited-mile warranty. Because a repair this big should come with some peace of mind.

Big repairs deserve the full picture—not just a quote.

It’s not always repairs—sometimes we get to do the fun stuff. 🔧

Check out this S&S Diesel Motorsport CP4 disaster prevention kit install!

This customer chose to get ahead of a potentially costly CP4 failure with a little preventative protection. The kit is designed to help keep debris from a failed CP4 from contaminating the rest of the high-pressure fuel system—which can turn into one expensive repair.

We’re not just here when something breaks. Upgrades and preventative installs are welcome, too.

OUR COMMUNITY. THEIR FIGHT.

We may not personally know the Wheaton family, but their story has touched our hearts in a way that hits close to home.

As parents, we know the feeling of needing to step away from work to care for a sick child. When your child needs you, there is nowhere else you would rather be — but unfortunately, the bills don’t stop coming.

We know how quickly missed work, appointments, travel, meals, and everyday expenses can begin to add up. And while we could never pretend to understand the magnitude of what this family is facing with their young son battling cancer, we do understand how difficult it is to watch the financial stress grow when your only focus should be your child.

Riley’s journey, shared by his mom:

“Riley‘s journey started in 2024 when he was found to be in complete heart failure. Multiple tests and chest tubes later it was found that Riley is battling Angiosarcoma, cancer of his heart. He was in remission last summer. His cancer came back in August 2025. Further treatment continued and once again no evidence of disease was found in May 2026. As of today, Riley‘s cancer has returned in his lungs, another chest tube placed draining fluid off of his lungs.”

So, we want to do what we can to help.

Throughout the month of September, T&W Garage will donate $5 from EVERY repair order to the Wheaton family.

For anyone who would like to contribute a little more, customers will also have the option to add a donation of any amount at the time of service. There is absolutely no obligation to donate beyond our $5 contribution — we simply want to provide an easy way for those who would like to help.

At the end of September, T&W Garage’s contributions, along with 100% of the additional customer donations collected, will be given directly to the Wheaton family to help ease some of the financial burden they’re facing.

Even if you don’t need anything from us this month, you can still help by sharing this post and helping us spread the word.

❤️ One repair order. Five dollars. One community coming together for a family who needs it.

⚾ Let’s knock it out of the park for Riley!

🔧 A New Chapter at T&W Garage

Hi everyone! We’re the Browns, and we’re excited to officially introduce ourselves as the new owners of T&W Garage!

While the ownership may be new, we’re certainly not new to T&W.

Nick has been part of the T&W team for the past 10 years, working in the shop and getting to know many of the customers and vehicles that have come through our doors. Caitlyn has also spent time working alongside the previous owners, helping manage the day-to-day business and learning what it takes to keep the shop running behind the scenes.

When the opportunity came for us to take ownership, it felt like a natural next step for our family—and one that means a little more to us because our boys are growing up around the garage, too.

We have two young boys who already love spending time in the shop with their dad and grandfather. Whether they’re “helping” repair their own toys, watching a project come together, or simply learning along the way, the garage has become a special place for our family. We hope they grow up understanding the value of hard work, taking pride in what you do, and taking care of the people who trust you to do it.

T&W has been a part of the Newport community for many years, and we’re proud to carry that history forward while continuing to make improvements for the future.

As a local, family-owned and operated business, our focus is simple: honest communication, quality repairs, and treating our customers the way we’d want our own family treated.

We offer full-service auto, truck & fleet repair, with qualifying repairs backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty because we believe in standing behind our work.

We know trust is earned, and we’re committed to earning yours—one repair and one customer at a time.

To those who have trusted T&W over the years, thank you. We appreciate your continued support more than you know. And to those we haven't had the chance to meet yet, we hope you'll give us the opportunity to earn your business.

We’re excited for this next chapter and grateful to be building it right here in Newport. ❤️
