Back at it, trying to sort out the IRS with yet another broken axle after 3 passes!
Pass 1: Soft launch, just wanted to go A to B and make sure everything was happy. Successful pass, no issues.
Pass 2: Cut a 1.46 60’ and was on a decent run, but missed 2nd gear. Still managed a 9.9x @ 146 mph.
Pass 3: Tried to lean on the launch a little harder and see if there was more in it. The result? Another broken driver-side axle right off the line.
I'm still running G-Force Outlaws halfshafts, and right now I’m getting about three passes out of the driver-side outer stub before it decides it’s had enough. Not much street miles and no wheel hop whatsoever.
At this point, I’m still trying to figure out exactly what’s causing the failures. It could simply be that I’ve found the limit of the current outer stub design for my combination, or it could be something in my setup that’s contributing to the breakage.
I’m working with G-Force and digging into things like tire pressure, launch RPM, suspension settings, and overall drivetrain shock to see if there’s something I’m missing.
The good news is the car keeps showing there’s more in it. The bad news is I’m apparently testing the limits of the IRS one outer stub at a time. Big surprise right! No it's not solid rear axle time yet!
Posting the videos and a few pictures of the carnage. The search for a reliable IRS setup at this power level continues….
