The time has come...
From Mike and Daryl

To our valued customers.

With heavy hearts, it has come time to inform you that we will soon be permanently closing Newfane Auto Repair. We have not set a date in stone for this to happen but but it will definitely be taking place in the next few months, on or before November 1st. I'll be turning 70 soon. With Mike and I both needing to spend more time handling personal matters, and my body telling me its time to step back from the daily grind of managing and working in the automotive repair business, it's time to close this chapter of our lives.

Mike and I want to thank you for your business. We both greatly appreciate the faith and trust you have put in us since we opened in 2015. I would also like to thank all of my long term customers from Steins Garage, many of you who have been with me for close to forty years.

We understand the trepidation involved in locating a new Mechanic who you can trust with your car. We'll do our best to provide you with suggestions of who is nearby and who we believe will both, do a good job servicing your car, and be honest with you.

As we look forward to moving into the next chapter of our lives, we sincerely want to wish you the best, and again, thank you so very much. God bless!

Mike and Daryl

News report I read this morning, Story by Lauren Martinez,

General Motors (GM) has agreed to a preliminary settlement of $50 million over faulty fuel pumps in certain truck models.

The problem affects Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks with Duramax engines from 2011 to 2016.

The CP4 fuel pumps installed in these models were incompatible with U.S. diesel fuel, leading to pump failure and costly damage (over $10,000 in repairs).

Owners could receive up to $12,700 depending on the damage and whether they still own the vehicle.

Owners must collect repair bills, workshop reports, and proof of ownership to file a claim.

GM’s Position: The company has not admitted fault but is paying the settlement to avoid prolonged litigation.

We just received this from one of our suppliers. This is just the beginning... Small business cannot absorb the increased costs caused by these tariffs. We as others will be forced to pass these higher prices directly on to our customers. 😢

Ya never know what you'll find when you start cleaning out the wood shop. Did this sign for Doug Schultz in another lifetime. Parts of the sign Jane and I made are still in use today. Anyone recognize where?

We have the new NYS VIP3 Inspection computer up and running. No more window stickers with the month punched out.
Stickers are now paper, with the info printed on them. FYI, when we do an inspection, it now asks for the condition of the vehicles license plates. So, if your plates are peeling, covered with tinted plastic, missing or obstructed, big brother will know.

With much thoughtful consideration, Mike and I have decided to cut our hours back slightly. We will no longer be open on Saturdays. We are still open weekdays from 8 to 5. Life is short, and neither one of us is getting any younger. We're both looking forward to a little more time to get things done at home. We appreciate the many years of support from our customers and will do our best to continue to service your cars in a timely fashion.
