The Leichtbau Package brings Porsche’s relentless pursuit of lightness to the understated 911 GT3 Touring. Where Weissach makes the winged GT3 more explicitly focused on circuit use, Leichtbau applies that thinking to a GT3 built for the road. Forged magnesium wheels save approximately 20 pounds, joined by a carbon fiber roof, lightweight folding bucket seats and simplified door panels to bring the package’s total reduction to approximately 48 pounds. The carbon fiber roof is painted body color, keeping its construction discreet. The manual also receives the shortened gear lever from the 911 S/T, while a dedicated Leichtbau plaque identifies the package inside. On this example, the exterior color extends to the front airblades and even a matching key.

Unveiled today at The Quail, the one off Porsche 911 GT2 Flachbau RS was created through Porsche Sonderwunsch. Its slantnose bodywork draws directly from the 935 “Moby Dick,” bringing one of Porsche’s most recognizable racing derived designs to the 991 generation GT2 RS and its 700 hp twin turbo flat six.
