We realize that many driving schools have instructors who do not have right personality: they yell at students, they ask or tell improper things, they talk on their personal phone during lessons etc.

What is aggressive driving and how to avoid it?
- Aggressive driving is a behavior that endangers other drivers while committing traffic violations.
-Type of aggressive driving:
* Recklessness
* Tailgating,
* Excessive horn use
* Cutting of other drivers
* Weaving in and out of traffic
*Confrontational body language.
- How to avoid becoming an aggressive driver:
* Allow enough travel time
* Do not drive when angry, upset or tired
* Be polite and courteous to other drivers
* Make your vehicle comfortable.
- How to avoid aggressive drivers: *Do not make eye contact
*Remain calm and relaxed
*Try to move away slowly from the aggressive driver
*Do not challenge the aggressive driver
*Report aggressive driver to law enforcement authorities.

How to pass a double parked car?
- Make sure brake lights of the parked car are not on
- Make sure there is no oncoming traffic
- Signal left
- Check mirrors
- Check blind spots
- Do not occupy opposite direction lane fully. Take only space you need
To get back to your lane:
- Signal right
- Check mirror
- Check blind spot
- Make sure you are passed car fully in your mirror
- Return to your lane
Did you know that you can fail your road test before you even start your road test?
If you don’t buckle up, adjust your mirrors and seat examiner might assume it as a “dangerous driving conditions” and you might fail your road test before you even start.

If your signals are not operational please know and use these hand signals to communicate your actions to other drivers
Bicycle safety:
- Bicycles 🚴 are hard to see so make sure to check your blind spots before making a turn, parallel park, opening a door or leaving a curb
- Turn head 90’ degrees to make sure there are no bicycles 🚳 approaching
- Give bicycles 🚴 enough room when you drive
- Reduce speed as you pass a bicycle 🚴 as air pressure from your vehicle can send them off balance
Basic rules for PASSING:
1. By law you must drive on right side of the road. Left lane is a passing lane only (pass another vehicle from the left lane and go back to the right lane)
2. Passing another vehicle is only allowed when it is necessary and safe to do so
3. You cannot go over a speed limit to pass another vehicle
4. Signal 100 feet (30m) before starting to pass another vehicle
5. You cannot pass on the left if there is a solid yellow line
6. You may pass on the right if a vehicle in front of you is making a left turn
Safe drivings!
How to change lanes?
Generally in driving - preparation is a key.
- NYS law requires you to signal your lane change or turn at least 100 feet (30m) ahead
- You have to do 90 degree shoulder check for blind spots to make sure there are no cars around
- Do no suddenly turn the wheel to the direction you are going but rather start softly shifting to the desired lane
- Turn the signal off and check your surroundings make sure your changed lane safely.

What to when you see a school bus?
- New York State law requires all traffic TO STOP 🛑 IN EITHER DIRECTION AT LEAST 20 FEET AWAY FROM A SCHOOL BUS.
- This law applies to all roadways within NYS
- School bus might have flashing yellow lights 🚦warning drivers that it will stop soon
- Stopped bus will display flashing red lights and/or stop sign on the sides of the school bus 🚍
- Do not start moving until flashing red lights are turned off
- Once lights are off REMEMBER TO LOOK AROUND FOR CHILDREN before you start moving slowly
If you don’t know the law - violation can be $250-$400 and/or up to 30 days in jail for the first violation. Each convictions also adds 5 point to your driving record.
Which of the following you must obey over the other three?
Answer is “B” - Directions given by policemen 👮♂️👮♀️ take precedence over signs, signals or pavement markings. It also includes: traffic officers, firemen, work zone flag persons, school crossing persons, school bus drivers.
What does this sign mean?
Answer is “A” - STOP SIGN 🛑 you must come to a full stop before the white line and yield the right-of-way to vehicles and pedestrians that are in or approaching the intersection and then proceed when it is safe to do so.
What does a flashing yellow light mean?
Answer is “B” - this light indicates that you should slow down and proceed with caution

Hit the DMV prepared! Have your paperwork ready: proof of identity, age and residence. Study and pass your written test (you can practice online at DMV website). Get your learner permit and hit the road with your driving instructor. Take Pre-licensing course and schedule your road test. Once you know you’re ready (trust your gut feeling and Instructor’s evaluation) go and get your driver license! Road test takes about 10 minutes but shows it all! Good luck!🍀

60 minute driving lesson for $75. You will have a private one-to-one lesson with one of our instructors. Lesson route will depend on your level. - Complete beginners usually drive straight and do lots of turns in their first lesson to learn wheel control, keeping car in lane and learning to turn. Intermediate students - learn to do proper turns, parallel parking, u-turns.
Upper intermediate students - polish their skills to get ready for the road test. They should know and apply all the rules and laws learned by now and have to reach perfection in everything to pass the road test.
