Shop Description
Certified Auto repair has been in business in New York mills for 16 years. We service most makes and models of vehicles, both foreign and domestic. We are a full-service, bumper-to-bumper shop offering everything from oil changes to brake repair to engine and transmission repair.

We also can assist with your light duty diesel truck diagnostics and repair.

SERVICE WRITER!!
Must be able to talk to customers, explain reason for repair and parts needed.

Be able to communicate with technicians and disperse work to proper tech with qualifications.

Write estimates and order parts from multiple parts venders.

Valid driver's license and good driving record

Pay pending experience/ knowledge and friendly ness to customers and other co workers.

Looking for a full time service writer

We are looking for that one person to top off our team. We started with myself and a service writer/bookkeeper. 16 years later we now have full time tech Billy Schwartz has been with us 15 yrs, Jesse Kytta 12+ years, Zander Schmitt 2 years, and 2+ months ago Chris Meckle has joined our team. With all that experience we are looking to top off our shops needs with a service writer.

Job Description for automotive technician
* Diagnose and repair to specifications, including -- but not limited to -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension, alignment, and tires
*
* Adequately explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to service writer and possibly some customers if needed
*
* Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.
*
* Assist other fellow co workers as they will assist you when needed. Work as a team.
*
* Keep shop management aware of mechanical repair problems as they occur.

Qualifications
* A high school diploma or GED
*
* ASE Certification or ability to obtain it. Shop pays for ASE testing

* Experience with domestics and imports
*
* Strong work ethic & interest in ongoing learning

* Valid driver's license and good driving record
*
* Ability to work business hours Monday - Friday 8-530 no weekends unless you want to work more hours.

* Pay pending experience range 30-35% billable shop dollars. Bonuses on 80-90-100 hours billed in two weeks of work. Minimum and max pay depends on ability, knowledge, and accuracy of work done.

A few days late. But I’d like to thank John Gunkel for over 7 yrs of dedication to Certified Auto Repair. I’ve know John personally since 1996 when he hired me as a high school mechanic. Most know John knows he was very dedicated to to his job. With his great knowledge of vehicles and explanation of problem to the customers. His knowledge and experience will be greatly missed but everyone/ me personally wish him the best on his retirement. Thanks John for your service writing and knowledge for over 7 yrs. I can’t say thank you enough.

Certified Auto Repair is looking for a full time service writer. John has retired so we are looking for an experienced or semi experienced service writer. Must have customer relation experience, capable of writing estimates, MUST have automotive background, and calling customers to explain repair needs. Paid holiday, retirement plan, and health care plan Pay pending experience. We are closed weekend unless scheduled work needs to be done.
