What a fun park and campground at Lake Koronis Regional Park and Campground!

Lake Koronis is one of our favorite lakes to deliver too. 🎣

The fishing on Lake Koronis is HOT right now! Anglers are reporting excellent success on walleyes, bass, and panfish, making this one of the best times to get out on the water.

🐟 Walleyes are active along w**dlines in 10–18 feet of water. Look for areas where w**ds meet hard-bottom structure, submerged w**d humps, and drop-offs near the islands. Minnow rigs and jigs tipped with minnows are producing great results.

🎣 Bass anglers are finding both smallmouth and largemouth bass. Target rocky points, gravel areas, and drop-offs in 12–14 feet of water. Largemouth bass are hanging around docks, vegetation, and shaded shoreline cover. Topwater baits, wacky rigs, and drop-shot presentations are all getting attention.

🌞 Crappies and Bluegills are also providing plenty of action. Crappies are suspended over deeper water, while bluegills are holding near shallow w**d edges and around docks.

💧 With the lake's clear water conditions, thanks in part to zebra mussels, anglers may want to downsize presentations and use lighter line during daylight hours for the best results.

🎣 Did You Know? Green Lake Has One of Minnesota's Most Fascinating Fishing Histories! 🌊

For well over a century, Green Lake in Spicer, Minnesota has been a favorite destination for anglers and lake lovers alike. From the grand resort days of the late 1800s to today's championship bass tournaments, Green Lake has continuously evolved into one of Minnesota's premier fisheries.

🏨 The Early Resort Years
Fishing tourism flourished as visitors arrived to stay at legendary destinations like the Teepeetonka Hotel and Interlachen Lodge. Local craftsmen even built custom wooden boats for guests exploring the lake's crystal-clear waters.

🏰 The Famous "Spicer Castle"
Back in the 1930s, anglers used the turret of John Spicer's historic lakeside cottage as a navigation landmark. The area became affectionately known as "Spicer's Castle" and remains a part of local fishing lore.

🎣 The Walleye Glory Days
During the 1980s and 1990s, Green Lake earned a reputation as one of Minnesota's top walleye lakes. Cool water temperatures and abundant yellow perch created ideal conditions for trophy fish.

🐟 World Record History
In 2000, local angler Rick Scalzo made fishing history by landing a world-record 36-pound channel catfish through the ice, earning a place in the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame!
