We had a fantastic time Tuesday night at the last Cruise the Commons night of the season! How lucky we are to have a town that offers so many amazing events throughout the year to support the real feel of community!!!

Keep an eye out for something new from the team at Probst Collision! We’re excited to announce the expansion of our services to include PeelClear and Cerakote finishes under the Clear Shield Studio brand.

This vehicle is the very first one we completed with a PeelClear finish — in this case, the entire front end. The vehicle was completely disassembled to eliminate mask lines and create a seamless, edge-to-edge finish with true OEM-level quality.

So, what is PeelClear?

When applied without additional color, PeelClear is essentially a sprayable, buffable alternative to traditional PPF film. The result is a crystal-clear protective finish with no seams, no exposed edges, and no bubbles. If scratches occur, many can be sanded and buffed depending on severity — and either way, your factory paint underneath remains protected and untouched.

One of my biggest concerns was whether the finish would alter the appearance of the original paint, which is exactly why we chose a white vehicle for our first completed project. I’m happy to say it passed even my overly critical inspection with flying colors 😉

Beyond protection, PeelClear also opens the door for complete color changes. And if you decide later that you want a different color — or want to return the vehicle to stock — the finish can simply be peeled away with minimal effort and without messy adhesive residue.

We had so much fun in the Loyalty Day Parade, we got so lucky with the rain leaving just in time!!!

Next year, more candy, more shirts, and definitely more car air fresheners! Loved seeing all of your smiling faces, and the muffler man loves being the star of the show still!!!

Many of you know my role at Probst Collision, but I also serve as President of the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Illinois (AASPI). One of the things we work on is advocating for fair processes when insurance claim disputes happen.
Right now in Illinois, when there’s a disagreement about the cost to properly repair a vehicle, consumers often have very limited options. Too often it means paying more out-of-pocket than expected or pursuing a lengthy legal process just to resolve a repair dispute.
That’s why we are supporting HB4160 — the Right to Appraisal bill.
This legislation would create a structured appraisal process to help resolve disagreements over repair costs without forcing people into court. It also ensures third-party claimants have access to the same appraisal rights, which currently isn’t always the case.
The goal is simple:
A fair way to resolve repair disputes
A process that can help avoid unnecessary litigation
More transparency and balance in the claims process. If you believe Illinois drivers deserve a fair dispute-resolution option, I’d really appreciate your support.
You can help by filing a Witness Slip in support of HB4160. It only takes about a minute and helps legislators understand that consumers and repair professionals believe this process is important.
