⚓️ Behind the Breaux Brothers Build ⚙️

This week, we’re proud to spotlight Darryl Bourque, our Purchasing & Safety Director!

Originally from Jeanerette, Louisiana, Darryl has been part of the Breaux Brothers team for 8 years. After retiring from the military, he was looking for a job with steady hours that would keep him close to home — and he found his place with us.

One of Darryl’s favorite parts of the job is seeing a boat leave the yard, knowing that he and his coworkers built it together as a team. 🚢

His role comes with plenty of challenges, especially when it comes to keeping everyone happy while ordering supplies for multiple people at once. His advice to new employees, “Don’t be afraid to try something new. Learn as much about the job as you can in as many areas as you can.”

When he’s not at the shipyard, Darryl enjoys spending time with his family and his three dogs — Anna, Gumbo & Boudin. And when it comes to food, his answer is simple: gumbo, then steak! 🍲🥩

And for a fun fact: Darryl said, “Life isn’t always as complicated as we make it.”

We’re grateful for the experience, dedication, and teamwork Darryl brings to Breaux Brothers every day. Thank you for being a part of the team, Darryl! ⚓

HII announced today that Halimar Shipyard of Morgan City, La., has joined the company’s growing network of strategic industrial partners supporting serial production of HII’s ROMULUS unmanned surface vessel (USV) family.

With extensive experience in commercial and government vessel construction, Halimar brings a highly skilled workforce, modern facilities, and proven production processes that will directly support full-rate manufacturing of the ROMULUS 151 platform.

Under the partnership, Halimar will construct complete ROMULUS 151 vessels and support serial production in collaboration with Breaux Brothers Enterprises in Louisiana, where five ROMULUS 151 vessels are currently under construction.

Our team was proud to welcome HII President and CEO Chris Kastner and Duane Fotheringham, president of Unmanned Systems group in HII’s Mission Technologies division, to our facility for a tour of the five ROMULUS 151 unmanned surface vessels currently under construction.⚓️

We’re honored to support HII’s mission to accelerate autonomous surface capabilities for the U.S. Navy and allied partners, and we’re grateful for the continued partnership.🇺🇸

Shipbuilders at Breaux Brothers Enterprises Inc., New Iberia, La., have turned over the hull of a new hybrid-electric tour boat that is being built for Port Houston. The hull of the 73'x28' aluminum c
