How come everyone around here is so camera shy lately? I told this guy, “Look, no one is even going to recognize you with those glasses on anyways!” I think he was having a great day, so he agreed I could post this. He told me work sent him home early because he fell off the jetway again. It was a blessing in disguise, as he was able to catch a two man limit all on his own in epic conditions. We know this year’s season has been hit or miss, but today, WE HIT!

THE TIME HAS ARRIVED! START PREPPING!

THE MINNOW MASTERS TOURNAMENT hosted by yours truly, ALLEN’S DOCK. We’ve upgraded your arsenal this year, no more CHILD’S PLAY! DETAILS BELOW:

THE MINNOW MASTERS

Date: Sunday, September 6th, 2026. RAIN OR SHINE.

Time: Lines in the water 06:00 (Shop will open 05:00). Final weigh in 13:30. (Military time. Look it up. Don’t be late!)

Buy-in: $30 gets you 2 MINI RODS & $10 to the POT. Additional mini-rods may be purchased at $10/per.

Rules: LARGEST FISH TAKES IT. Fish must be landed on the mini-rod. No alterations to the rod can be made, except for tying on 3’ of any leader you choose to the main line and lure/hook choice. AND YES, WE WILL BE ACCEPTING PHOTOGRAPHY OF FISH THIS SEASON. We had a low keeper count last season, but did have some awesome videos and photos of contestants hauling in their fish on the mini rods. It’s great content and adds to the fun and competition of the tournament. FISH WILL BE MEASURED FOR LENGTH FIRST, TIE BREAKERS WILL BE A GIRTH MEASUREMENT FROM THE WIDEST POINT AVAILABLE ON THE FISH WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE. (We will only use WIDTH of flat fish.) IF POSSIBLE VIDEO AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE OF CATCH & MEASUREMENT. NO AI! (I’m looking at you Adam Sandler !)

CALCUTTAS: There will be a few.
LARGEST FLUKE: $5/PER
LARGEST STRIPED BASS: $5/PER
LARGEST PERCH/CROAKER: $5/PER
LARGEST BLUEFISH/SHARK: $5/PER
LARGEST CATFISH: $5/PER

KEEPER FISH WILL BE WEIGHED FOR USE IN BREAKING TIES OF LENGTH & WIDTH.

BOUNDARIES: THE GREAT BAY & MULLICA RIVER ESTUARIES ONLY. SOUTH DAY BEACON 157 (End of Shad Island), LITTLE EGG INLET BUOY 8 (So, yes, you may fish the inlet to this point), NJ ICW BUOY 113 (Behind Holgate), to the GREEN BANK BRIDGE.

RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. But, I’m feeling pretty good about these. Anyone who is certain they are in, please STOP IN TO THE SHOP to REGISTER, or CALL 609-296-5660.

EARLY SIGN-UPS WILL REALLY HELP IN MAKING SURE WE HAVE ENOUGH RODS FOR THE TOURNAMENT. If possible, PLEASE REGISTER ASAP.

Jacob found the in shop aquarium its new featured critter… lady’s and gentleman…
I present to you…

“Whisker!”

Whisker was caught by Jacob using his dad Jon Clayton ‘s cast net. Whisker lived in gen-pop for a little but was moved pretty swiftly to live with the fiddlers and minnows in the shop tank. Stop in and check him out. He may be the biggest grass shrimp I’ve ever seen.

Lotta short dominating the bay. Croakers. Sharks. Where are all the keepers? From the rumblings- best shots out at the reef these days with a few here and there near any inlet you choose.

But the early birds know how to have a good time and are finding BONUS TAG STRIPERS on EELS, SHEDDERS & EVEN GRASS SHRIMP! YES, LIVE GRASS SHRIMP IS IN STOCK & SO ARE THE SHEDDERS. Jump on them while supplies last. Mako Bob did, and it gave Plumber Dave and himself a pair of Bass AND a load of WHITE PERCH!
