Rudy Dalinger joined Viking on Sept. 2, 1964 - just five months after the company was founded.

Some honors recognize achievement. Others recognize a lifetime of impact.

This past weekend, Viking Yacht Company’s Patrick Healey was inducted into the 2026 IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame, one of just five members of this year’s distinguished class.

For the big-game fishing community, the honor carries special weight. Few people have devoted more energy, leadership and passion to advancing our sport, strengthening our industry and protecting its future.

A tremendous and well-deserved moment for one of big-game fishing’s great champions.

The International Game Fish Association has inducted Viking Yacht Company President and CEO Patrick Healey as part of its 2026 class of the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame. Pat has exemplified leadership at the intersection of sportfishing, conservation, and industry advancement for decades. He has been deeply engaged in fisheries policy, including the Magnuson-Stevens Act reauthorization and science-based opposition to unnecessary species listings. He was an early proponent of circle hooks and continues to support research and conservation initiatives that protect fisheries and the sport. An accomplished angler, Pat is a three-time International Masters Angling Tournament champion, recipient of the John Rybovich Award and the IGFA Gilbert Keech Heavy-Tackle Award.

The MidAtlantic returned for its 35th year, drawing a record 208 boats and a purse of more than $6.7 million.

Ken Hager’s Viking 62 Taylor Jean weighed the Heaviest Blue Marlin after Captain Blaine Birch put Dave McKendrick on a 688-pound fish. Taylor Jean also finished in 10th Place White Marlin Points with seven releases.

In the tuna division, Matthew Garabedian’s Viking 62 Disciplined weighed an 182-pound Allison yellowfin for 2nd Heaviest Tuna. Captain Haden Browning ran the boat, and Ian Winslow reeled it in. The 3rd Heaviest Tuna, a 126-pound bigeye, belonged to Trip Manley, who fished on Kirk Kellogg’s Viking 58 Following Seas.

The 3rd Heaviest Dolphin went to Jake Freeman’s 30-pound fish caught aboard the 65 Godzilla.

Keith Boyd’s 58 Craftsmanship earned Most Points White Marlin and 2nd Place Points Overall. With Hook Leconey at the helm, Keith, Dennis Bacanskos and Steve Basalyga released 15 whites.

Second Place Points Blue Marlin went to Thomas Ripley’s Viking 74 Riptide. Thomas and John Rivers each released a pair of blues and five additional white marlin to secure a 5th Place Points Overall finish.
