Preston Auto Group was proud to sponsor the 2026 Jack & Nancy Flannery Y Salute Award, honoring the life and legacy of William “Billy” Humphrey.
Known by many as “Coach Hump,” Billy dedicated nearly four decades to serving Lawrence County, mentoring young people, coaching generations of athletes, and making a difference in the lives of countless people around him.
His legacy reflects what the Y Salute Award represents: caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and a true commitment to community.

This is the 12th Salute video I've done for the Lawrence County YMCA and I say without hesitation that it was the most difficult one by far.
I could have deleted all 30 minutes of this video, restarted from scratch, and still had enough material to make two more 30 minute videos that were just as good.
Thank you to Billy's wonderful family and friends for all of your help putting this together. For bravely sitting through difficult and emotional interviews to talk to me about Billy so soon after his passing. For putting up with my texts and calls as I looked for material and going that extra mile to get it to me.
This video turned out the way that it did thanks to all of you. Your words, your insight, but most of all your love for Billy that you all so beautifully expressed throughout. It was your story to tell - I was just the one to organize it.
