Frankenmuth Auto Fest did NOT disappoint!
This weekend we had the chance to attend the Frankenmuth Auto Fest and if you love cars, this is one event that belongs on your list. The sheer number of incredible vehicles filling the show and cruising through town was something to see!
From hot rods and muscle cars to street machines, customs, classics and everything in between, there was no shortage of horsepower, craftsmanship and creativity. We could’ve spent all weekend checking out the details and pretty much did. 😎
One of the highlights for us was having the honor of selecting and presenting our U.S. 12 Speed & Custom Builder’s Choice Award to one deserving car owner. With that many outstanding builds in one place, choosing just ONE wasn’t easy!
We’ll be sharing the winning ride later this week, so stay tuned!

Today, the tools go quiet for a moment as we remember.
We honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the countless Americans whose courage and sacrifice showed us what it means to stand together.
No matter what we build, fabricate, repair, or race, some things are bigger than all of us.
From the entire crew at U.S. 12 Speed & Custom, we remember the fallen, honor the heroes, and stand proudly with our fellow Americans.

Today we’re giving a well-deserved shoutout to everyone who works hard, gets their hands dirty, and keeps things moving... especially the crew right here at U.S. 12 Speed & Custom.
We’re incredibly grateful for our team and the skill, long hours, creativity, and occasional colorful language that go into everything that rolls out of our shop. 😂

How do you make the Olds guys AND GM purists mad all at the same time? We may have found a way. 🤣
We’ve got a customer with a ’71 Olds looking for a completely one-off custom hood. They love the look of classic ’60s GM muscle car hoods, but cowls and the traditional 442 forward-facing scoops just weren’t doing it for them.
So naturally… we decided to stir the pot.
We’re taking inspiration from a ’67 Chevelle hood. arguably one of the best-looking and most iconic GM hoods ever, and grafting that style to fit the Olds.
The result? A completely custom, functional, one-of-a-kind hood that looks like it could have belonged there all along.
And we’ve gotta say… this thing turned out FIRE. 🔥

Do it right the first time!

Something that I was thought at an early age. So last week we had a car come into the shop for a touch up repair due to a garage accident. Ironically this was one of the first of many Muscle cars that I can remember as a little kid that my Dad restored (1983) and it’s crazy after 43 years how good this car still looks.

My Dad was big on using the best materials possible and not taking short cuts going through the step to make things last. Thanks to Danny for letting us be a part of this repair and bringing back some really cool memories on how this Hot Rodder grew up.

When pre-fab parts won't work...

This Fabrication Friday we're taking al look at this custom aluminum hood scoop and some headers.
A little aluminum, a lot of tubing, plenty of measuring, cutting, fitting and welding…and probably a few words we can't post on here. 😉

When a ’58 Chevy Apache is this clean, the engine bay deserves more than off-the-shelf.
We custom fabricated these aluminum engine tins to clean up the engine compartment, hide what doesn't need to be seen, and give everything that smooth, finished look. Then they were painted to match that killer paint! 🔥

It's starting to look less like a project... and more like a problem for the competition. 😏 The new beadlock wheels are in thanks to our friends at WELD Racing ! Getting to work on the custom rear wing, front grille, airdam/body kit that will make this Drag Week truck one-of-a-kind.
