29 years with the Kahlig Auto Group — and a trailblazer from the very beginning!
Rene Perry made company history as the first woman to take on the role of Service Manager in the Kahlig Auto Group, paving the way for others to grow, lead and build successful careers in this rewarding industry.
Today, Rene is the Service Manager at Bluebonnet Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, where she oversees a team that helps uphold the excellent, award-winning customer service Bluebonnet is known for. And she brings a LOT of experience to the role! Rene has worked an incredible 40 years in the automotive industry, with 29 of those spent with the Kahlig Auto Group. She worked at Bluebonnet Ford for 18 years before making the move to our Chrysler Dodge Ram store 11 years ago.
So, what has kept her at Bluebonnet for so long?
“It’s family,” Rene says. “It’s a different feel here than other dealerships.”
She credits Mr. Kahlig and the values he has built the company around — God, family, and then work. Rene says that philosophy trickles down throughout the dealership, where departments jump in to help each other and employees genuinely work together as a team.
Family is everything to Rene! She and her husband have 10 grandchildren, ages 6 to 18, all living in the area. She’s especially grateful for a husband who has cheered her on throughout her career.
“I’m so blessed to have such an awesome husband who supports me and understands the hours we work in this business.”
When she isn’t at the dealership or going to her grandkids’ softball games, Rene loves spending time on her back porch with her two dogs. With bird feeders, squirrels and even the occasional raccoon or fox stopping by, she says it’s a peaceful place to unwind.
Oh, and one more thing you should know about Rene: she is a HUGE TEXAS LONGHORNS FAN! 🤘
After four decades in automotive, Rene still calls it an “awesome line of work.” Her advice to someone considering a career in the industry?
“Stay with it. Learn everything you can. Every day is different, and it’s gratifying! If you’re going to get into the business, do it at Bluebonnet!”
