Need inspiration on where to mount the winch solenoid im not crazy about mounting underhood unless I decase it and wire it to switch pod. I need to clean the cut for my winch clutch. I have a idea for a soft shackle friendly recovery points that doenst stick out. Weld a chunk of tube thru my weight reduction hole and plate thr back side with 3/8s plate so the soft shackle can wrap around the top or bottom of the bumper thru the hole.

Frame chop bumper coming together. Cutting the corners off solved the rock anchor issue. Now for soft shackle recovery point option I have 4 inch wide 1/2 inch plate that I will cut 2 inch holes in and weld to together.

My frame chop bumper so far. I want to chop the corner at 45 like I marked and plate them with 1/4 wall. Approach angle is 78 degrees a huge game over the 59 it was. The fairlead coming out of the top helps as well. Need to get some longer leads to mount the winch solenoids under the hood. I cant believe how thin the framw is on the jl i plates the outside with 1/4 wall and the top, bottom and inside with 3/16s

Removed bumpers and started fabricating my own frame chop bumpers the bottom winch will mount to the front of the bumper...

Removed bumpers and started fabricating my own frame chop bumpers the bottom winch will mount to the front of the bumper just clamped to the stock mounts it will save 5 inchs over warn bumper.
Looks like I can chop 2 to 3 inchs with my winch and not have to rework anything. If I can can move the Ac up to the top of the grill I could probably do 4 to 5 inchs and have a 90 degree approach like I did on my jk. I cant space the radiator back as easily as I did in the jk. Im also trying to come up with more soft shackle friendly recovery points. Then it will be on to the back where with a little choping I can save 3 or 4 inchs over my motobilt bumper. With the old bumpers my approach was 59 degrees and departure was 57 degrees.
