Hello Floaters!!!
It is with very heavy hearts that we must announce that the 9th Annual MEGA TUBE FLOAT on the Hocking River! will have to be postponed. 💔We will be postponing the event until the following weekend August 28 - 30, 2026.
Unfortunately Mother Nature has caused the river levels to rise to extreme levels - 6000 CFPS. This video shows how close the water is to normal bridges tubers pass under.
Normally in August, the river is running around 100-400 CFPS, making for a lazy 4-5 hour float. After reviewing the river conditions daily & watching the weather for this week, we feel like the river won’t be down to a safe floating levels by this weekend. Safe floating levels are 700-1000 CFPS or lower.
& if there is any chance we can get people out this weekend, it would likely only be kayaks and we would have safety restrictions in place.
In our 9 years of hosting this event.. we have never seen the river this high in August. We were very hopeful that river levels would be good & we were close to being operational this past Sunday, but with the rain that came in the late afternoon Sunday / Monday, the levels have quickly risen again.
With it being a special event weekend, reservations on schedule will have the ability to:
1 - reschedule for a future date
2 - receive a voucher in the amount paid that can be used at any point in the future!
If you can’t make the postpone date or if the weather is not allowing us to send anyone out still by next weekend, we will honor the voucher until it has been used.
We will not be offering refunds as Mother Nature is completely out of our control, but we will be flexible with you rescheduling dates / the use of the voucher!
