R5 Detailing is officially evolving.

Welkom to… Auto Huis (pronounced “House”).

I’ve been planning this shift since we introduced Paint Protection Film (PPF) to the shop. While I still love the craft of detailing, I’ve decided that 2026 is the year to refresh, refocus, and redirect.

So, why the change? As we grow, I wanted a name that represents a "home" for all things automotive—giving us the room to add new, premium services without being boxed in.

Why "Auto Huis"?

A Local Tribute: "Huis" is Dutch for House. It’s a nod to the heritage of Nederland and the Dutch immigrants who founded our community back in 1897. 🇳🇱

Full Circle: It’s also a homage to our roots. This business started at my house as R5 Detailing, and this name ensures I never forget where it all began.

To focus on our new direction, we are pausing our wash/detailing services. Logistical challenges like weather, scheduling staffing have made it difficult to scale, though we may revisit these services in the future.

To everyone who has supported me since Day 1 — THANK YOU.

What Percentage of Small Businesses Fail?

1st Year: Around 17.5% of service-based businesses fail in their 1st year of business.
5th Year: Around 43.1%
10th Year: Around 60.4%, That means for service-based businesses is 39.6% survival rate.

R5 Detailing would have hit that 10-year mark in 2026, but unfortunately, the odds have won.. Looking back, I’m amazed at how far it came. This was never supposed to be a "real" business—it started as a fun hobby to help get through college. To see it grow from a side hustle into something that lasted nearly a decade is more than I ever expected.

As we wrap up 2025, R5 Detailing will also be finishing its journey. Thank you all so much for supporting us throughout the years.

Do it all.

1. Old PPF removal. New SunTek Reaction PPF applied.
2. Prep wash, iron decon and clay bar.
3. Wheels sent off to TDC wheel repair for fresh powder coat.
4. Little paint run cut and wet sand.
5. Paint correction and Gtechniq Ultra ceramic coating applied.
6. Wheel wells, suspension cleaned. Brake calipers and wheels Gtechniq coated.
7. Take some pictures and enjoy.
