To all of our Awayaday guests. We will be taking a group picture Saturday July 4th at 5 PM near the playground. If you have some festive colors wear them. If you don’t have a fourth tee we still have some left.

Congratulations on Your finish Tom Mauerhofer

RACE ACROSS AMERICA…We were very excited to have this amazing cyclist, Tom Mauerhofer, stay at Awayaday RV Campground! Tom was hit by a car in 2018, while participating in the race across America. The accident resulted in a fractured cervical vertebra. After extensive rehabilitation he was able to return to the RAMM. It is estimated that during the race this year he traveled 279 miles a day , only getting 3-4 hours of sleep per day. The RAMM is thought to be the toughest race in the world . It stretches from Oceanside in California to Atlantic City. It covers 3000 miles and climbing a total of 175,000 feet in elevation gain. WOW!!!!! They make this route every year. Please be careful and drive safe! SR 46 is a dangerous road to travel. Watch out for the cyclist. Tom finished 8th in 10 days, 22 hours and 54 minutes.

Thomas Mauerhofer will be competing in the Race Across America in 2026. The Austrian suffered a broken cervical vertebra in this race in 2018 following a car accident.
