🌞 Headed out for the Fourth of July weekend? 🇺🇸
With temperatures expected to top 100° and humidity through the roof, your RV’s air conditioner is about to work overtime. Before you hit the road, take 10 minutes to help keep your A/C running at its best!
✅ Clean your A/C return air filter. A dirty filter restricts airflow and makes your unit work much harder.
✅ Make sure your vents are open and unobstructed. Don’t block vents with pillows, blankets, or luggage.
✅ Check your campground power. Low voltage is one of the biggest causes of A/C issues during busy holiday weekends when everyone is running their air conditioners. A surge protector with voltage protection is a great investment.
✅ Start cooling early. Turn your A/C on in the morning before the hottest part of the day instead of trying to cool down a hot RV later.
✅ Keep shades and blinds closed. Keeping the sun out makes a huge difference in how hard your A/C has to work.
💡 Pro Tip: Run your A/C fan on HIGH instead of AUTO. A constant fan keeps air circulating, helps reduce hot spots, and can make your RV feel cooler on extremely hot days.
Most RV air conditioners are designed to cool the inside of your camper about 18–22° cooler than the outside air. So if it’s 100° outside, don’t be alarmed if your RV settles in around the upper 70s to low 80s—that’s normal performance in extreme heat.
