We’ve had many customers asking for Silvias, specifically the S15. And for good reason since we never got them in the States. Well we’ve finally managed to find another clean one and it’s not just any S15 Silvia, it’s the Autech Version!
This trim slots somewhere between the Spec-S and Spec-R, though it’s definitely closer to the Spec-R end of the spectrum.
Under the hood is a naturally aspirated SR20DE tuned by Autech. So what exactly did Autech do with the SR20? It’s got a higher compression ratio of 11.7:1, more aggressive cams, a tuned ECU, freer flowing intake, and freer flowing exhaust featuring a beautiful tubular header setup.
All of that bumps the power up to 200 horsepower with a redline of 7500 (300 higher than the Spec-R!) Is it a lot of power by today’s standards? Not really, but in a lightweight, responsive, high-revving N/A package it’s an absolute pleasure to drive.
The Autech Version uses the Spec-R’s helical L*D as well as its 6-speed transmission, but with a 4.083 final drive ratio (significantly shorter and more aggressive gearing compared to the Spec-R’s 3.692 final drive), and a lightweight flywheel. It also got some of the other Spec-R upgrades such as 5-stud wheels, larger brakes, and extra chassis bracing.
Autech also threw in some extra cosmetic goodies including Autech Version seats, floor mats, and a beautiful red valve cover.
This one in particular is clean, lower mileage, and virtually bone-stock! Would you keep it N/A?
