Roundabouts seem confusing at first, but once you understand the rules, they’re often easier and safer than traditional intersections.
✔️ Slow down before entering.
✔️ Yield to traffic already in the roundabout.
✔️ Choose the correct lane before you enter.
✔️ Signal when you’re exiting.
One intersection, continuous movement, and fewer conflict points.
Practice builds confidence.

The goal is to move through the cones smoothly, maintain a safe distance, and control the vehicle using the mirrors and careful steering.
Reverse slalom helps students develop:
• precise steering control
• spatial awareness
• proper mirror use
• a better understanding of how the rear of the vehicle moves
Slow speed. Small steering adjustments. No rushing.

A forward slalom isn’t about driving fast—it’s about driving smoothly.

This exercise helps students develop:
steering precision; where to look (your eyes should always lead the car); speed control; proper vehicle positioning; coordination between vision, steering, and pedal control.
The goal isn’t to avoid hitting cones. The goal is to make the car flow naturally through them without sudden steering corrections or unnecessary braking.
The smoother your inputs, the smoother—and safer—your driving becomes.

This drill combines several essential skills in one task:
✔️ steering control,
✔️ lane positioning,
✔️ smooth lane changes,
✔️ speed management,
✔️ precision stopping.
It may look simple, but it teaches students to plan ahead instead of just reacting—and that’s exactly what safe driving is about.
I’m pretty sure my students don’t enjoy this exercise nearly as much as I do 🤣🤣🤣

That’s why every student’s first lesson takes place on quiet, low-traffic roads. It gives them the chance to get comfortable behind the wheel, build confidence, and focus on the basics without unnecessary pressure.
