Owl Shack Owl Shack owl houses are handmade by us in our garage in Nacogdoches, Texas. They provide homes for backyard screech owls.

These tiny owls eat roaches and mice - an effective natural pest control agent. And the owls and their owlets are fun to watch! Cliff and Julie Shackelford have been making Owl Shack owl houses since the early 90's, but really got started during Christmas several years ago when we made over 35 as gifts for officemates in Austin, Texas. These owl houses were such a hit that folks started to order more for family and friends. And the interest kept growing and growing so our hobby has gone gangbusters. The design has evolved over the years to what we believe is the best owl house ever. We are now based in Nacogdoches, Texas, and we ship our Shacks all over the country. We hope you enjoy your Owl Shack owl house!

It is SO depressing to see window-kill birds. They just flew across the entire Gulf and then they die by hitting your window. There are unobtrusive measures you can take to prevent this!! Do it for the birds!

Birds and windows simply don’t get along, and they haven’t gotten along since we started peppering the landscape with buildings and homes.

Oooh, this FB Page Administrator's favorite topic - conservation easements on your property. If you have questions, ask away! Do it for the birds.

What if you have a really big backyard like a couple hundred or even a couple thousand acres of great wildlife habitat that you want protected forever for birds and other wildlife?

Oh man, this is a good tip. It kills me to see reef or seagrass prop scars.

Seagrasses are native flowering plants found just offshore in calm shallow saltwater bays.
