Shop update:

Thank you all for the support and reaching out about work - I feel blessed to have so many people interested in sidecars!

As of right now, my books are closed for the year.

Which is funny because I’m technically still not in production 😅 what can I say, I want to help people out where I can.

I had my first customer build, an alignment where someone found me on Google that ended up being just down the road, and now have some fall and winter work lined up to keep me busy.

I’ll be sure to post with some progress and updates. Sincerely, thank you all for the interest - sidecars are fun!

I’m happy to get this build to the customer this weekend; my first official customer delivery as MI Sidecar!

Originally, this customer wanted something very simple and straightforward - no frills - just to keep riding as he is getting older. I didn’t have a line on fiberglass production when we first discussed the project, and he said he had his grandfathers old chest that we could use. I took some measurements and it worked great for the application he was looking for.

Although I’m dropping it off for him to get some ride time in, and get used to his new outfit, we’re not done yet! I was able to source a factory Harley Davidson metal sidecar body, and we will add that and a fender to enhance the appeal over the winter.

I recently had someone reach out to me about providing a sidecar ride for someone at a nursing home in the Byron Center, Michigan area.

I don’t get out that way very often, so I wanted to put the word out there to see if anyone can help someone experience the joy of a sidecar ride.

In case you were wondering who the coolest kid in the school pickup line was today, here’s picture proof that it was my daughter, Everly.

Things have been busy - my family moved into a new house this past week and it has been nothing short of crazy and chaotic, but also the start to some wonderful new beginnings. That said, the new house and property has the proper space to start fiberglass body production and I’m looking forward to getting things dialed in. Thank you to those who have reached out about purchasing sidecars - we’re not producing them currently but we’ll keep this page updated and notify you once we’re rolling them out of the shop.

With the nicer weather finally showing up for the season, people are getting their sidecar rigs out.

Although we’re not in production at this moment, we do offer services for Ezee Steer installations.

The Ezee Steer was developed by John Sweet; John has been building sidecars since 1971 and has a long history with them in his family for the last 100 years. John developed the Ezee Steer to make steering effortless, and the feedback on them has been nothing short of incredible.

These can be utilized on Harley FLH motorcycles with sidecars from 1984 - 2023, and has been added to setups utilizing other manufacturers with amazing success. The result are far better than adjustable triple trees, which are a lot more money and don’t quite get you where you need to be.

Yesterday was a productive day at the shop; this picture is post clean up for the day, taking in the long day.

Although we are not in production, we have been plugging away at a frame for our 93 Anniversary Electraglide “Demo” bike, an work will start soon on a classic model sidecar body that we’ll be offering. We want our customers can get a great idea for what to expect when purchasing from us.

We were approached by someone who’s interested in a frame for their shovel head so the can putz around town. Seeing how they didn’t want a body, at least yet, we’re working with them to have a very old school, DIY feeling for their bike by using an old chest that has been in their family for generations. It’s exciting to help him out and made it a unique build with a personal touch.

Ezee Steers offer what’s been described as “power steering” to your sidecar outfit, making steering effortless. We highly encourage this option. The sunshine has us ready to ride - even the cats are dreaming of sidecar adventures!

We’ve picked up a new welder and have swing arm parts on order from a local supplier. Things are moving in the right direction; looking forward to getting a frame and body set for a shop/demo bike. There’s still a long way to go before we get customer orders out, but every bit of progress adds up.

Hey all, thanks for checking out MI Sidecar LLC - the only manufacturer of sidecars in this region of the USA.

We are NOT currently in production as of this posting, but please check back here for updates and to see progress. We're currently working on fiberglass body manufacturing and adding a sidecar to a motorcycle we have to give a better perspective on the sidecar experience we offer here at MI Sidecar.
