Tomorrow’s the day! 🎉

We’re so excited to celebrate Tyler’s birthday at Burzurk Brewing Co by bringing some of our favorite farm friends along for the fun 🐴🐷🐐🐔

Burzurk has been an incredible blessing to the Ranch, generously providing us with spent grain to help feed our animals. Their kindness and support have not only made a difference, but our animals LOVE the grain, and we couldn’t think of a better way to say thank you than by bringing the Ranch to them for a day of celebration 🎉

Join us Sunday from 1p - 4p to meet some of our animals, celebrate Tyler, enjoy delicious food from Belly Up, and help us show some love to a business that continues to give back to our Ranch.

When your dad and mom are both mechanics and need an extra hand. They call on you (the 12 year old for help). He happily climbed in and went up on the air to shift the car from drive, neutral and back to park while they inspect underneath.

When you support us this is what you support. Us being able to have our children integrated into every part of our lives. They get to grow up coming to work with dad and mom. For that we are so grateful.

Sparrow wants to share with you the exciting things happening on Broadway today. He had to come out and investigate why his fun dirt pile was now a boring black top. We tried explaining to him this is amazing news and a good thing. He seems to disagree and wants his dirt pile back.

Thank you for letting us take the day to spend it with our boy for his birthday. We spent the day celebrating him.
Can I be honest and a little vulnerable for a moment with you. Having a disabled child is not for the faint of heart. Tonight we had a birthday party for him. This was his 7th birthday party and the 6th party that almost no one came to. Year after year we celebrate our beautiful boy who is a gift from God. Year after year we are left wondering why people don’t show up for him. Being a holiday the day after his birthday I know it’s hard but I always plan weeks if not a month and a half in advance. I try a week before or a week after and it doesn’t make a difference. Thought when he got in school and had friends that would change things but it hasn’t. Up until this year it hasn’t mattered. He was happy because we were there and made it fun for him.
Tonight tho he came in our room crying asking when his party was. We told him we already had it. That grandpa and his aunt and uncle came and that was the party. He cried and said no that wasn’t a party no one came. No one brought me presents or played with me. My mama heart shattered.
This boy doesn’t care about stuff. You can give him and old marble you found outside and he would be so excited just to get it. He just likes the thought of it. He talked about his birthday party for a month. To see him so heart broken crushed us.

So when you wonder as a business owners why we close for their birthdays. Why we close for field trips. Or close shop because they called and needed some random thing at school that wouldn’t normally require leaving work. Just know this is why. Our kids will always no that no matter what, no matter where nothing is stopping mom and dad from showing up for them and being present. They are our number one priority.

If you come in the shop next week and you see Ezra in the afternoon when he is there be sure to wish him a happy late birthday. I’m sure it would make him smile.

While many places and business close tomorrow for the holiday weekend. Our family closes up shop for an entirely different reason. Tomorrow is an extra special day in our house hold. Our youngest kiddo is celebrating his birthday tomorrow. So we will be closed to spend our time fully focused on him.
For those who don’t know. Our youngest is special needs and has 4-5 appointment every single week. Having this business allows for me (mom) to get him to all his appointments. It also allows for us both to be there for all the things he needs. So we are so grateful for our customers and community that support our business and make that possible. His life would look so different if he didn’t have the support he has in both of us and the access to the care that he gets.
So tomorrow we celebrate 7 years but we also celebrate how far he has come in 7 years and what the future holds. A huge part of that is our community supporting our business and allowing us to be the parents we need to be for a special needs kiddo.
We hope you all enjoy Ezra’s special birthday fireworks (as we call them)! Have a great and safe weekend everyone we will see you all Monday.
