☀️ Heat Wave Ahead? Here’s How to Protect Your RV
Southern California summers can be tough on your RV, but a little preparation can help prevent expensive repairs later.
✅ Check your tire pressure. Hot pavement and high temperatures increase tire pressure. Always check your tires when they’re cold and inflate them to the manufacturer’s recommended PSI.
✅ Protect your batteries. Heat shortens battery life. Make sure batteries are fully charged, connections are clean, and disconnect them if your RV will be sitting for an extended period.
✅ Inspect roof seals. Intense sun can dry and crack sealants around vents, skylights, and AC units. Catching small cracks early can prevent costly water damage.
✅ Keep the interior cool. Close blinds, use reflective windshield covers, and remove anything that could melt or warp inside your RV.
✅ Run your generator monthly. Even during storage, running your generator under load for about 30 minutes helps keep it in good working condition.
✅ Don’t forget your refrigerator. If your RV is stored with the refrigerator off, leave the doors slightly open to prevent mold and odors.
A few minutes of maintenance today can save hundreds—or even thousands—in repairs tomorrow.
