Watch as Diane’s Spec Boxster finally arrives at Chris’ R Body & Paint in Midvale, Utah! Owner Robert Hogan gives us the full walkthrough — from the condition of the car to the donor tub waiting in the shop — and breaks down exactly how they’re going to bring this Porsche back to fighting shape.
Robert also takes us on a quick tour of the shop so you can see the quality work they do. Huge respect and mad props to the whole team at Chris’ R Body & Paint for jumping on this project!
This one’s a bit longer (over 5 minutes) but packed with details Porsche fans and race car enthusiasts will love. Definitely worth the watch if you’re into restorations, Spec Boxsters, or just seeing great bodywork in action.

From old to new, monster race car in just FIVE days — we went all out on Diane’s 986 Porsche SPEC Boxer build!
Bodywork, paint, wrap, assembly, and straight to the racetrack for the big reveal and shakedown. The car looked insane, sounded even better, and Diane was absolutely flying… until the finale didn’t go as planned.
Sometimes you build the dream in record time just to learn the hard way. This one hurts, but the journey was epic. Huge thanks to Clayton Stark and the entire crew at Summit Auto Lab for making this crazy timeline possible!

The rear trunk floor repair on this Porsche 914 LE Creamsicle continues with one of the most important finishing steps: seam sealer.

In our previous video, we showed the repair panel installation. This video focuses on sealing the seams and recreating the two factory seam-sealer techniques Porsche used when these cars were built.

This is a common repair area on most 914s, and getting the seam sealer right helps protect the repair while keeping the finished work looking factory-correct.

Clayton Stark rolling in to grab his Porsche 914 engine while Eric was out tearing it up on the Classic Car Adventures Silver Summit Rally!

The PMB crew got everything dialed in — we fired up his 1.7L-to-2.0L on the run stand and installed our latest bolt-on EFI system for crisp performance and reliability. Engine running strong and ready to drop in!

Clayton loaded it up and headed straight to work installing it back in the 914. Another happy customer back on the road with modern fuel injection on a classic air-cooled flat-four.

First fire-up of Clayton Stark’s early Porsche 914 engine on the PMB run stand — and it fired right up with a healthy, strong sound!

We also geek out over this super cool original oil bath air cleaner that came on the early 914s. Such a classic piece of German engineering.

Back in the garage with Clayton Stark as we start buttoning up his 1.7 Type 4 long block! Freshly coated tin is going on, valves are getting properly adjusted, and things are starting to come together nicely.
Next up: intake manifolds and the full EFI system install. This build is getting serious!
