Hello everyone! I hope you are well, safe, and healthy in these trying times.
I am writing today with a heavy heart to keep you all informed of recent events. After coming down with an as-yet-unidentified illness, Fisher has terminated my employment. The company that I have worked for dutifully since I was 18, the company that my father worked for until his passing, saw fit to fire me for the crime of being unwell.
It is unfortunate, to say the least, especially in these times. Not a lot of jobs out there in this State right now.
I want to thank all of YOU for your loyalty during my time at the store, for your trust in me and your support of my family working there. At one time it was myself, my mother, and my wife, about as close to a family-owned, local parts store that you could get.
That kind of business is contrary to what Fisher Auto Parts chooses to pursue; instead, they have opted for a spider-web of corporate heads.
I am NOT telling you not to buy your parts there, but I do want you to be aware that I am no longer there. Unfortunately, although I promised my employer a minimum of a one-month notice if I was ever to leave that same courtesy that was not provided to me.
It has been an honor to receive your trust and your business. I have learned a lot in my 14 years there, not just in the world of auto parts, but from each of you: so many of you are so smart in so many ways! I have had the great privilege of meeting many great people and learning from them, lessons not only of parts, but also in business, in life, politics, philosophy.
Thank you all again for the opportunity to learn from you and serve you. May we meet again under brighter circumstances!
