Our sweet little town!
One of North Carolina’s most magical small-town Christmas celebrations is the “Murphy Mountain Christmas” in Murphy, NC…which gets started on Friday, December 4th bringing holiday lights, music, and old-fashioned Christmas fun to this beautiful mountain town! The celebration takes place in historic downtown Murphy, where the streets fill with Christmas decorations, local shoppers, and families enjoying the holiday season. Friday’s festivities include the Christmas tree lighting celebration, with live entertainment, Christmas carols, and a community sing-along before the town’s beautiful tree lights up for the season. You can also explore the Murphy Art Walk, with local artwork, crafts, music, and downtown shops welcoming visitors. On Saturday, December 5th, the annual Christmas Parade brings decorated floats, light-covered trucks, tractors, music, and a special appearance by Santa Claus through the heart of town. Throughout the holiday season, visitors can browse locally owned stores for Christmas gifts, enjoy downtown restaurants and bakeries, and take part in special activities like the Selfie Scavenger Hunt. Past celebrations have also included free professional photos with Santa beside the town Christmas tree. With its historic buildings, beautiful mountain setting, and welcoming small-town feel, Murphy offers a wonderful place to celebrate Christmas!
