Pennsylvania RR built 600 class G32 gondolas in 1949, numbered 370600-371199. These were steel floor, fixed end, no-frills 46' gondolas on par with their earlier G29 class, but this time of all-welded construction. The design was successful, as evidenced by a subsequent 1953 build of 1500 class G32A cars, PRR 317400-318899. These were extremely similar to the first 600, differing in tiedown clip placement and having cast instead of fabricated draft sills.
In mid-1966, PRR then rebuilt 700 of the G32A* cars with new corrugated sides: 600 with typical Stanray horizontal corrugations, and 100 with Stanray vertical corrugations (to our knowledge the only cars to ever employ this unusual stamping pattern.) The rebuilds featured heavy paired-angle top chords, as was PRR practice in later years, and were thoroughly modern–very much alike in design to the road's G42 and G43 gondolas. The remaining original cars remained on the roster into the 1970s (though we have not seen photos of this) and the rebuilds served through Conrail fin revenue service before many were transferred to maintenance of way service. A number of cars lasted into the 1990s, and there was at least one car in Lewistown, PA which had been used as a crane tender and was not scrapped until well after 2000.
100 of the class G32 cars had 70-ton Scullin LV trucks (PCMP 4122-01). Out of the remaining 2000 G32/G32As, the vast majority had ASF A-3 trucks, but some did have National C-1s. Please check prototype photos, as the exact number series are not available.
Brand New Plate C Model Prototypes Freight Car Trucks!

Along with the new G32 Gons Adam at Plate C also developed the 70T Scullin LV trucks. As mentioned above the first 100 G32s rode on these trucks and they are now available for possibly the first time in model form!

While it might be Wednesday, It's "Green Signals" all the way to the weekend! Check out these new samples from Bridge Line Design and scale3dproductions! What a perfect combination! We've been working with Bridge Line Design for a LONG time on these D&H signals and now with the new GRS Searchlight signals from scale3dproductions we are MUCH closer to a full release! We've been doing quite a bit of testing and are quite pleased from HO to S and O Scale!

Wanting to up front, we are struggling with the N Scale versions due to size. There is just not enough room for the wiring inside of the mast in N Scale.

We still have some adjustments to be made on these so please don't be too critical, but we are getting close! We expect some formal announcements in Late August
