Clark Gable’s Jaguar XK120.

More than seventy-five years of history—and now, for a small part of that story, the car is in our hands.

From the collection of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum , this XK120 was sent to Muncie Imports & Classics for the creation and installation of a new interior.

We’ll be documenting the process as our work begins, with careful attention to the history and character of a car whose story started long before it arrived at our shop.

And when it returns home to the museum, this is one you’ll want to see in person.

The Jaguar E-Type OTS, in motion.

Long bonnet. Wire wheels. Chrome details. Red over black.

Few cars are so immediately understood by proportion alone. Low, balanced, and unmistakably mechanical, the E-Type remains one of motoring’s most resolved silhouettes.

Elegant. Mechanical. Unmistakable.

Some vehicles are judged by points. Others are measured by the generations that have cared for them.

This Jaguar XK140 is both.

Originally owned by the current owner's father, it has remained in the family for decades and has earned a perfect 100-point concours score—a reflection of the dedication invested in preserving one of Britain's most iconic sports cars.

When it was time for an engine rebuild, the work was entrusted to our TT Race Engines division. Rebuilding the engine of a concours-level automobile isn't simply about replacing components. It's about understanding the engineering, preserving the character of the car, and ensuring every detail is approached with the care a vehicle of this significance deserves.

We're grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the continued stewardship of this remarkable XK140 and look forward to seeing it continue its legacy for years to come.

The Volkswagen Beetle is famously simple—but simplicity doesn’t leave much room to hide.

When one comes through the shop, the details tell the story.

This example came in for mechanical service, giving us a chance to look closer at the engine, the systems, and the condition of the components in front of us. Clean, well considered, and true to what makes these cars last.

Nothing excessive. Everything intentional.

It raises a question we see often with classics like this:

When you’re maintaining an older car, how do you decide what to change—and what to leave exactly as it is?

You can’t scroll past this without turning the volume up.
Watch until the end to hear this flawless Jaguar XK140 fire right up. We just finished rebuilding the engine and wrapping up some fresh interior work, and there is absolutely nothing like the sound of that legendary British straight-six coming back to life. The crisp mechanical start and that deep, smooth idle make all the hours in the shop completely worth it.
Scale of 1-10, how satisfying is that engine note? Drop your rating below.

Preserving the driver’s perspective.
While the engineering under the bonnet defined the performance of the Series 2 E-Type, the view from the cockpit was designed to capture the American luxury market.
This 1970 Jaguar E-Type Roadster pairs its 4.2-liter inline-six with an impeccably detailed factory-correct cabin. True to its original export specifications, the interior retains its correct instrumentation, safety-mandated rocker switches, and the highly optioned amenities that set it apart from its European contemporaries.
Every element, from the iconic Smiths gauges to the original air conditioning and power steering controls, remains an authentic testament to Coventry craftsmanship.

The ultimate 1970s luxury sports car compromise.
In 1970, American drivers wanted the soul of a British sports car but refused to give up their creature comforts. Jaguar’s answer was the E-Type Series 2 Roadster.
What makes this particular 1970 Jaguar E-Type so compelling is its rare factory-spec configuration. It left Coventry optioned with both original power steering and air conditioning—a luxury combination rarely seen on European classics of this era.
Under the massive front bonnet, the legendary 4.2-liter dual overhead cam inline-six engine runs exactly as intended. There are no modern modifications here, just pure British engineering preserved to perfection.
