Today, Jeremy fired our son.
Not because he did anything wrong, but because years ago, his own dad fired him too.
Tomorrow, Matthew begins an exciting new chapter at Boeing, and we couldn’t be more proud. It was never our hope that he would work for us forever. Our greatest hope has always been that he would chase his own dreams, build his own future, and create a life that makes him happy.
For the past four years, we have been incredibly blessed to have you by our side every single day. Watching you grow has been one of the greatest gifts. You’ve learned skills, developed a strong work ethic, and gained experience that many people your age never have the opportunity to. More importantly, you’ve grown into an honest, hardworking, and remarkable young man.
Thank you for every early morning, every long day, every challenge you tackled, and for always giving us your best. We are so grateful for everything you’ve done.
While we’ll miss seeing your handsome smile walk through the shop doors each morning, we’ll be even more excited to see it walk through our front door each evening as you tell us all about your new adventures.
Today was our last day as your boss.
Tomorrow, we get to simply be Mom and Dad.
And honestly, that’s the role we’ve always loved the most.
We are unbelievably proud of the man you’ve become, and we can’t wait to watch all the incredible things you’ll accomplish next.
We love you more than words could ever say, son
